Just in case this hasn't occurred to anyone,  when you're viewing the main board you can right click on the titles and select "Open in new tab", which dramatically decreases the amount of time it will take to "red X"
@sleepyjones Not sure if I'm missing something but this doesn't seem any quicker than what I am currently doing.
You right click on Title and open in new tab, Click the Skipped button and close the tab?
I currently left click the Title to open the post, Click the Skipped button and then click the browser back button.
Both ways you end up back on the main board titles after 3 clicks. My way, the Skipped marker has updated straight away, the other way, the Skipped marker doesn't show up until the board is refreshed.
    What am I missing?
I think it's just personal preference, since there are a few different ways to do things :)
I do a mixture of those methods, sort of.....
Instead of right clicking and selecting to open in a new tab, I just left click, but while holding down the ctrl key as that automatically opens the link in a new tab with one click (without having to use the right click menu) and I can really quickly run down a list of links just left clicking and opening a whole batch of links quickly in new tabs. This is just because I personally like (and find it quicker) to do them in batches though......purely because I get into a quicker rhythm that way, if that makes sense!
I open all 20 comps per page (since I can't currently get my usual 200) in a new tab each (via one left click) and then go through them (clicking skipped) before closing each one (as I go along) and then I refresh the main board listing page (only once per 20 listings, not after every one), so that it updates the skipped labels.

Thanks, that makes sense and would probably save a little time. Perhaps even a bit quicker if you run down the page using a mouse centre button/wheel.

Yes, if you have quicker control of your wheel (or a centre button), then that's preferable, as can of course then also do everything one handed! :)
My mouse is old and although the wheel scrolls really well, it's too stiff to use quickly as a clicker, so I stick to left clicking with ctrl held down. Should probably just get a new mouse, but I'm so used to not ever clicking the wheel that even if I got a new one I'd probably still find my current method quicker as I'd periodically forget to use the wheel until I'd got used to it anyway! haha :D

I've said this a few times today but MSE IS NOT a comping site, so the priority is to get the new forum up and running, which will improve security for everyone ... the custom updates for the comping Forum will need to take a back seat to the functionality of the main forum overall.  This isn't directed at you spendaholic, but more to all the people moaning about things not being right ... this site does not revolve around the competition forum, that's not the purpose of the forum, it's just an bit added on, so you just need to be patient and allow their developers to do their thing.
@sleepyjones This is a very good point, MSE is not a Competition site
Thank you for all your helpful posts about the new forum.
I'm sure they will get it working as we would like it eventually

Hi. I dont know if is been posted before but on Mobile Version of the forum there isnt a time stamp (on the green band at the top of the post/comment) to say when this has been posted. I was using this to keep a track of the magazines competitions i ententerd. So may i suggest that it might be a good ideea to add one if possible for those of us who dont have a computer and slower mobiles.
    Kind regards.
  • Does anyone know how to set the page to see 200 threads per page?
I had a link saved for the old style forum but that no longer works.
Seeing 144 pages just makes me want to cry, it just seemed better when i was able to have 200 threads per page and then it was roughly 17 pages.
    Thank you

@sleepyjones any idea how to un-dismiss a post please? I've accidentally dismissed a sticky thread by hitting the cog next to it, now I can't find it at all to put it back where it should be, thanks for any help

@thingamaBob, @2013yearofthehouse ... (Right click to open VS left click to open) Yeah, I will usually do a screen's height worth at the same time (so If I can see 6 posts on the screen, I'll open them all up, do my thang then scroll down and do the rest).   It maybe depends on your connection speed but I find it takes a second to load the main board page back in if you do it with a left click and hit the back button... which doesn't sound like a lot of time but it's incredibly annoying :).

@serendipity79 (List more posts per page) Unfortunately not at the moment.  Reading up about the forum software MSE are currently using, that feature used to be available but they removed it because they are now working with larger corporations/communities and having people load 50 results per page (or whatever) causes an unnecessary load on the servers, because people are loading in 50 posts and maybe only actually looking at a one or two.  We'll need to see if the MSE devs can bring that back.

@mumto2boys It doesn't look like there is a way to get this to reappear ... You can still get to the post you've dismissed by searching for it but I can't seem to make it come back to the Sticky area, or undismiss it.  I'll add this to the list.

(Hmmm, I can't edit my original post now, the Edit button has gone, I wonder if there is a limit to the number of times you can edit a post?)

@toniq Using a different username yes, she's trying to get it sorted with MSE but obviously they're a bit busy at the moment, hopefully get sorted soon.
