  • @grinnerlynn Are you sure that's the case?.
Can you go Skip or enter this comp : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6100864/e-23-02-win-snatchers-on-blu-ray-rc#latest

Once you're done, I'll make a comment and we'll see if it the tick \ X goes away.
This would be a MAJOR issue, but I don't see it happening on my posts and I'm pretty sure there would 1000 posts about it by now but I haven't seen any.
i will go enter a comp now and post a link in a minute, then you comment on it

    OK Done.
If you can give it a check, if all looks good, maybe try logging out and logging back in again and see if it's still all ok?

I did find the buttons a bit "clunky" yesterday when I actually got around to entering some comps, I found that sometimes it didn't click and it also wasn't that obvious if you had clicked it.  I thought it was just my mouse playing up though 'cause sometimes I sit too far away from the computer with a wireless mouse so it can sometimes be a bit flakey.

sleepy - it's not just you and it's not related to any maximum number of edits. You can't do it on the first post of a thread you have never edited. It is something that has happened since yesterday - I've put the following in Site Feedback Snagging (and reported my own post)

CAN'T EDIT FIRST POST IN A THREAD

When I click on the cog to edit the first post in a thread the box that opens is small and blank and I can't edit - see upper screenshot below. This happens from both Thread View and Forum View. I can still edit subsequent posts (replies) in a thread - see lower screenshot. I could edit OK on Friday & Saturday.
(refreshing, clearing cookies, logged out then back in etc. has no effect)

Thanks One-eye.  I had noticed the same thing.  I typed usr instead of user and could not correct it.

    Ahh ok, thanks for that.
I had been editing the same post a few times so I thought it must be a limit or something.
I can kinda understand why they might have done it,  It would make sense in the real world that you wouldn't want to allow someone to post something, get 10 replies of people agreeing with you and then they edit the post to something completely different.  Unfortunately, the compers forum isn't the real world  :D
