Clf,  I hope you're feeling better soon.
BB/Dawn,  I'd not thought about saving and reusing the rm posting bags! I make the use of everything else!
HK Sounds like you've had a productive week!
    Today we have
o:) Been to the library to return and collect other books
o:) Made leek and potato soup with ys leeks and hm chicken stock
o:) Had a lovely long walk (very windy!) but lots of free exercise and fresh air
o:) Logged all my food and continued with the healthy eating

Thats about it,  take care all.  <3
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • I try to reuse everything. The children use the paper mainly for their home education, saving us another few pennies. Any suggestions on how to reuse the polystyrene blocks?
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

In the way of small things..
    ❤️ All meals from stores
❤️ Washing to ge dried on the heated airer

  • Morning folks
Very windy and rainy here although stupidly warm. Stay safe if you're out.

I'm not sure how I feel about being poorly at the weekend and well by the time I go back to work  There's good and bad sides to that!

I'm going to apologise in advance for the excessive use of capital letters in the following post.

There were some very interesting things happening yesterday involving myHermes saying that they had tried to deliver a parcel to my work but no one was in. The lie detector determined that THAT WAS A LIE. I know it was a lie because I went to work, opened up and sat in reception LOOKING OUT OF THE GLASS DOOR and not a single car even CAME DOWN THE ROAD.
I am angry. Very angry. My anger was further compounded by the fact that it's easier to get Boris Johnson to tell a truth than to speak to a person at Hermes. Apparently they will try to deliver again on Monday. I pointed out that they didn't try the first time.

Also yesterday, to cut a long story short, I ended up pulling up the carpet by the front door (water ingress issue) and found that the floor quite possibly hasn't been finished correctly and that there was an EARTHWORM living in SOIL under my CARPET!!!

Today I will be working and saving money by not spending anything.

    Thank 1LL.

I've made the decision that the children are not going to training today due to the weather. This afternoon activity was also cancelled as roads were (and still are) flooded so the leader couldn't get there, also it won't have been safe for us locals due to the high winds.

    Today's plans:
    NSD Done
    Pmp
     Prepare RM survey
    All meals from stores Done
Washing my hair with shampoo bar decided to wait until tomorrow
letting my hair dry naturally likewise
Stick to the current meal plan Done
Write next weeks meal plan Done & some filled in for the rest of the month 😇
    Write shopping list Done
Home educate children for free Done
    Light the stove later Done
Put kettles on top for free hot water Done
    Tackle a frog Done
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Like 1LL, I use them for packaging for online sales.

Grr to rubbish couriers. I think with MyHermes it depends on whoever the local courier is. We have had decent ones recently, an older lady, and now a young Eastern European guy, both pretty good. Was the earthworm under your carpet at home or at work? We have had many creatures appear indoors, often, but not always, courtesy of cats - but not an earthworm.
Anyway, the weather is foul and we decided against the usual Sunday market, so not planning any spending today. Plans are to:
Clean light fitting in bedroom - it is a chandelier thing and GD told me yesterday that it is dusty and there are cobwebs on it :DDone
    Clean bathroom Done
Clean stairs Not done, got sidetracked doing the loft conversion / spare bedroom, including the ensuite and the eaves cupboard where I keep a lot of my sales stock (among other things).
Fridge things for lunch, pate, toast, salad leaves, chutney etc Done
Make a Thai chicken curry for dinner Done, the Thai green curry paste from the freezer had lost its oomph a bit (it had been in there a long time :s) so I added HM chilli jam. Then had to keep adding things to get the balance of hot, salty, sweet and sour right. OK in the end though! There is some sauce left, which I will keep for later in the week when OH is going away for a few days. I will simply add veg to it and cook for a meal for just me  :)
Update spending diary / spreadsheet Done
GD now has chicken pox - poor little thing. Her mum is going to have to ring the hospital about her fracture clinic appointment on Wednesday, as I can't imagine they want a child with an infectious disease turning up :(
  • Dawn, I hope your poor little GD gets better soon
