On my phone it when I click on bookmarks it gives me about a 1cm gap with the subscriptions in and I have to try and scroll within that! Not very successfully....1LuckyLady said:

I did manage to get them all on one page but then I commented on one and couldn’t ‘go back’ :'( I’ll keep trying.
Nice to see see you Pippi

I like your new name haggischops
BB, I've switched off the notifications as they were annoying me, I used to get the daily email but I don't think thats an option at the minute from what I could see.PurpleFairy26 said:

PF, I've just tried it on my phone and I see what you mean!! That can't be how its meant to be!! On the computer that was much better.
Dawn, sounds like its been one of those weeks for you! Wishing you a peaceful weekend!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi AllI haven't been around for ages - been working virtually full time as we were short staffed and January is our busiest time of the year. Thankfully starting to calm down a bit now - but I'll miss the overtime! Also - I'm now debt free, so maybe I shouldn't be posting on here at all!!! I looked at how much I still had left to pay on the car loan, and I looked at how much I had in savings. And the interest on savings is pitiful, so I decided to throw my savings at the debt and save myself some of the interest in the long term. And of course the monthly repayment. I did it on 31st December, so I started 2020 debt free, which I'm very proud of.Still sticking to my frugal ways - I've been keeping my food spending diary for very nearly a year now (the year is up on 21st Feb), so that will make interesting reading when the time comes. It'll be a year on 20th Feb since my husband left - what a year!! Now that the debt is paid off, I'm all on to save for a holiday as I didn't have one last year. I don't know if I'll manage to save enough, but I'm enjoying the planning, and if I don't manage to get away this year I'll manage it next year. Feeling very positive about life in general!!Love to all - I've missed you!!No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...6

Lovely to see you back trailingspouse. Congratulations on being debt free 🍾🎉🍾 but do stick with us, several of us are df but the support on here helps keep us that way! 🤩Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi Trailingspouse - lovely that you are DF, but as 1LL says don’t let that me a reason to leave us
plus the small things add up whether you are DF or just being frugal. Today’s list:
check banking
reconcile just for points credit card
small to prepaid activity
pay for an exam but money is already in the pot
out tonight, but we will either not have to contribute or will pay half from our fun budget
rest of meals from stores
walk with friend later for some steps and fresh air
strip the beds and do some washing
have a good day all. Purps.4 -
Morning all
Looking forward to a quiet, uneventful weekend! This afternoon we are going to take some items of furniture to GS1 and his GF at their new rented house
So need to load up our van. We have brought a table downstairs, and I have cleaned and polished it. I have a trunk to hoover out and it will be ready to load up. Must remember to get a bbq out of the garage and put that in as well. For reasons I won't bore you with we currently have 4 bbqs, but after today it will only be 3. Another one is brand new so that can go on a local selling site when I get a minute. Decluttering going well. I took a book and some tops I don't love to the CS yesterday, must keep it up. Decluttering is a bit of a tightrope for someone who is an antiques / vintage / junk dealer, as you can imagine
but I do like orderly surroundings - it is just that lots of strange things temporarily share them with us
Just been to the corner shop to get a TV mag, also posted an ebay sale (used free stamps from RM surveys, it fitted into an envelope) and a RM surveys item. All food will be from home, though we are promised tea and cake by GS1
Stay with us Trailing, some of us are also debt free (now) but stick to the small things to stay that way!3 -
Congratulations trailingspouse! Please stick around! Technically I've been debt free for nearly 7 years but I couldn't do without these folks. I've met some really good friends on here over the years.
Sorry I've been quiet. Another one of these stomach bug things hit me on Wednesday and I've been feeling off all "weekend". Going to take it to the docs on Monday because it's not normal and I'm really fed up now. Gutting seeing all the lovely sunny weather and not being well enough to enjoy it. Grump grump grump.
Not sure how I feel about the new forum. Stupidly though, I'd carried on with the old green format when they changed it last time and that's not an option any more! I also though that I would be able to find my avatar again so didn't bother to download. I was wrong. Still I have uploaded this lovely Fanta rain that I took a pic of.
Plus you can't see if you've thanked a post unless you hover over it which is annoying.
We have done some useful things though over the weekend. Cuddling up on the sofa binge-watching Poirot boxsets may not be the most exciting thing but it was nice to spend time together. Plus OH did a ton of stuff in mil's yesterday. After she uttered the immortal line "I don't ask you to do much". This is not accurate
PS: have they got rid of all the old smileys?!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.315 -
Trailing please stay, we have cleared all our debt with the exception of the mortgage. I like the small things thread as it the day to day spends mounting up the make a difference to us.
Dawn do you reuse the RM survey posting bags to post your sales? We use them to line a tiny bin in our downstairs toilet.
CLF have you mentioned in the snagging thread about the thanks problem? I've posted about a couple of issues. I feel the more of us that post about each issue the more likely something is going to be done about it.
You can use the smilies on you phone 😆
So far I have:
RM survey
Home educated children for free
Did a small amount of decluttering in the study
Read some of a FIRE blog
Helped OH with chopping & stacking wood
Moved money around so it is in place to pay this months credit card - balance cleared monthly, used for convenience and rewards
Still to do:
Take (& collect) dd to a prepaid event
Continue home educating ds
Make a teacake, the fruit is already soaking
All our meals will be from stores
Pmp etc
NSD
Check spending diary is up to date
We are planning on spending the evening as a family playing our tabletop adventure game 😄
Over the last few days, I have been thinking again about budgeting. The OH doesn't do budgets 🤦♀️, no idea why, but it would work very well for me. Monthly costs are fine, but annual bills cause blips in our outgoings. OH prefers to pay them as they happen, which often doesn't coincide with the fluctuations in income. I am looking to change the language I use to see if that will help get OH on board.
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family4 -
I'm not sure about the new style forum, find it hard going on the eyes.
Stick with us trailing. I joined this thread when i was coming to the end of my IVA and just needed that final push, plus the last 6 months of it seemed the longest ever. It was great throwing myself into the small ways that make a big difference.
I feel like it keeps me on the straight and narrow.
CLF-here's hoping that the doc can help u. Im not surprised u are fed up.
Its been a quiet week for me. There are a few things ive had to do but in general everything has just plodded on nicely.
DD is back home next week so had a parcel sent to Boots. Decided to have a wander around town aswell as pick up the parcel. It was so nice without time limitations.
Picked up some birthday cards in a CS and a smellie set for the charity auction i support. Cards weren't too expensive and it was nice getting cards from somewhere different as we only have a card f@ctory. I would have paid the same price for the cards if bought from the c.factory. Also picked up a couple of reduced cards in another CS.
Everything has been pinned down outside as the wind is really picking up. Found the brown bin blown over this morning
Eating from the freezer tonight-christmas turkey in gravy
Bought the reduced storage box from Tesc@. The last bits have been sorted and stored. It is very satisfying seeing the storage boxes all lined up underneath the spare bed with everything sorted in them
Banking all checked, everything good.
Off to check quidco now (always forget)
Stay safe everyone this weekend

Yes, I use the bags for postage, or to line the bathroom bin etc. Also the wads of A4 paper (for kids drawings mainly) and the big white envelopes that they pack the things to be posted in, get used, though I have freecycled these when I have too many.Sorry you are ill again CLF, hope you get some answers at the docs on Monday.I like charity shop cards too HK, they are cheaper than supermarket ones and much nicer and more original.Delivered the furniture etc to GS1 and his GF
Popped into Lidl on the way back as OH had run out of beer
Got the few things on my list, came to just over £11, including beer.Made a frittata for dinner, used up all kinds of bits from the fridge and freezer, and the rest of the eggs. And there is enough for another meal
