  • Afternoon all. Just working out how to get round the new forum and find my subscribed threads  :open_mouth:
I clicked on the bookmarks tab at the top of the right side of the screen next to profile on the computer,  not sure if its the same on a phone.
On my phone it when I click on bookmarks it gives me about a 1cm gap with the subscriptions in and I have to try and scroll within that! Not very successfully....

I did manage to get them all on one page but then I commented on one and couldn’t ‘go back’  :'(  I’ll keep trying.

Nice to see see you Pippi  :)

Lovely to see you back trailingspouse. Congratulations on being debt free 🍾🎉🍾 but do stick with us, several of us are df but the support on here helps keep us that way! 🤩
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • Hi Trailingspouse - lovely that you are DF, but as 1LL says don’t let that me a reason to leave us  ;) plus the small things add up whether you are DF or just being frugal. Today’s list:

    check banking
reconcile just for points credit card
    small to prepaid activity
pay for an exam but money is already in the pot
out tonight, but we will either not have to contribute or will pay half from our fun budget
    rest of meals from stores
walk with friend later for some steps and fresh air
strip the beds and do some washing

have a good day all. Purps.

    Morning all :)
Looking forward to a quiet, uneventful weekend!
This afternoon we are going to take some items of furniture to GS1 and his GF at their new rented house :) So need to load up our van. We have brought a table downstairs, and I have cleaned and polished it. I have a trunk to hoover out and it will be ready to load up. Must remember to get a bbq out of the garage and put that in as well. For reasons I won't bore you with we currently have 4 bbqs, but after today it will only be 3. Another one is brand new so that can go on a local selling site when I get a minute. Decluttering going well. I took a book and some tops I don't love to the CS yesterday, must keep it up. Decluttering is a bit of a tightrope for someone who is an antiques / vintage / junk dealer, as you can imagine  :p but I do like orderly surroundings - it is just that lots of strange things temporarily share them with us :D
Just been to the corner shop to get a TV mag, also posted an ebay sale  (used free stamps from RM surveys, it fitted into an envelope) and a RM surveys item.
All food will be from home, though we are promised tea and cake by GS1 :)
Stay with us Trailing, some of us are also debt free (now) but stick to the small things to stay that way!

Trailing please stay, we have cleared all our debt with the exception of the mortgage. I like the small things thread as it the day to day spends mounting up the make a difference to us.

Dawn do you reuse the RM survey posting bags to post your sales? We use them to line a tiny bin in our downstairs toilet.

CLF have you mentioned in the snagging thread about the thanks problem? I've posted about a couple of issues. I feel the more of us that post about each issue the more likely something is going to be done about it.
You can use the smilies on you phone 😆

    So far I have:
    RM survey
    Home educated children for free
Did a small amount of decluttering in the study
Read some of a FIRE blog
Helped OH with chopping & stacking wood
Moved money around so it is in place to pay this months credit card - balance cleared monthly, used for convenience and rewards

    Still to do:
Take (& collect) dd to a prepaid event
    Continue home educating ds
Make a teacake, the fruit is already soaking
All our meals will be from stores
    Pmp etc
    NSD
Check spending diary is up to date

We are planning on spending the evening as a family playing our tabletop adventure game 😄

Over the last few days, I have been thinking again about budgeting. The OH doesn't do budgets 🤦‍♀️, no idea why, but it would work very well for me. Monthly costs are fine, but annual bills cause blips in our outgoings. OH prefers to pay them as they happen, which often doesn't coincide with the fluctuations in income. I am looking to change the language I use to see if that will help get OH on board.

Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

    One
     income, home educating family

I reuse everything I can BB. Yes, I use the bags for postage, or to line the bathroom bin etc. Also the wads of A4 paper (for kids drawings mainly) and the big white envelopes that they pack the things to be posted in, get used, though I have freecycled these when I have too many.
Sorry you are ill again CLF, hope you get some answers at the docs on Monday.
I like charity shop cards too HK, they are cheaper than supermarket ones and much nicer and more original.
Delivered the furniture etc to GS1 and his GF :)
Popped into Lidl on the way back as OH had run out of beer B)  Got the few things on my list, came to just over £11, including beer.
Made a frittata for dinner, used up all kinds of bits from the fridge and freezer, and the rest of the eggs. And there is enough for another meal :)
