I tend to agree with you about that, SC. The information is coming out in dribs and drabs, and I just received an email saying…
'The advice we have been given is that there is a small risk to those patients who have come into direct contact with Dr Prais or that have visited our practice since Monday 24th February until we closed the surgery upon receiving the positive diagnosis on Wednesday 4th March.'
The usual incubation period is a couple of weeks. So, if He contracted the disease on holiday, it’s hardly surprising that he was back at work for a week or two before developing symptoms. I sent him an email wishing him a speedy recovery. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?5 -
My GP's surgery had the ambulance outside with the crew in the hazmat suits yesterday. I think this is starting to spread in Herts now. It isnt the first case that I'm aware of and not in the press.

I read this morning that Tesc0 drivers are having a meeting about whether they're prepared to deliver food to those in self-isolation ... meanwhile supermarkets are saying they can't just ramp up the number of deliveries as they've not got vans on tap.
As I see it, if somebody's in self-isolation, no driver would have to go to their door, bang, wait, chat to them, etc. No pleasantries... why not just put the bags down, ring the bell and run?

Still, I am sure there are ways round that.
Also, if fewer people are risking going to supermarkets, what will they do? Refuse to deliver to people who wouldn’t go to the store, and so lose out on their custom?(I just lurve spiders!)

I've just popped my washing on. The Wanderer did the usual of going out... I had to fingertip touch the door, the powder drawer + I had to turn the knob and touch the start button. Then I washed my hands.5

In all seriousness, are most of us going to run out of food if we self isolate for two weeks? Sure, by day 14 I may be down to Cocoa Pops with milk made from coffee mate and tinned beans with pasta for dinner, but none of us are going to starve. Unless of course we are on low wages or low pension and lead more of a hand to mouth existence.Iam concerned about food banks having enough though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It's just coco pops.
I've got about 22 pot noodles here, so I'd be OK for two weeks. I've also half a dozen instant noodle packs.
I've also some tins of rice pudding and tinned fruit.
After that it's tinned peas and random items
EDIT: Ah, just remembered some other food I've got here. 2 twin vacuum packs of naan bread, 10 packs of Morries instant mash/onion flavour, 6-8 nuker pouch rices, about 3-4 boxes of Cup a Soups.
I've more. I've a bag of food in total. An insulated Waitrose bag for life, which I was given by my sibling to carry away a food parcel of her overstocks and unwanteds when I visited at Xmas. It zips up, so I keep my food in there/hidden away as it doesn't go in the kitchen.
That's my lot really: food that will fit into one bag + 2 boxes the naked noodle pots came in (12/box and I've had one from each of two boxes).
EDIT 2: Oh - and 10 apples. Keep forgetting those. Should eat them really. I've also a pack of instant custard....
EDIT 3: ... oh and 2 jars of strawberry jam and 5 flatbreads (pack of 6, opened this morning/ate 1). Oh and a pack of stuffing mix.
It's endless isn't it6 -
You’re stronger than me, PN. I would definitely NOT be okay after eating 22 pot noodles. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?8
