    waste of space garage.
Lol My husband would strongly disagree with that statement every being true, as would I in the sense if he did not have adequate garage space his stuff would just migrate to the house given he had a motorbike in his bedroom when I first met him.
And I have a (very small) milling machine in the dining room here. Would love a 9m long workshop garage. At a push, I suppose one could convert the kitchen :D

I doubt it very much and quite what the EA was thinking with that photo is beyond me.
Agreed.  Even if they wanted to show that there was a loo directly off the kitchen space (when there could have been a partition wall to create the loo off the corridor), they could at least have shown there is a door for privacy - at least that's what the floor plan indicates.

If I lived there it would be of great benefit to any houseguests unfortunate enough to experience my cooking.

A garage is only a waste of space if one chooses to waste the space it provides.  If it's empty, buy a car!

And why is there a vast if intriguingly modernist telephone kiosk in the bathroom?

We really have no idea how to do bathrooms in this country. Just the basics of making a practical room for getting clean.

I wonder how big the average car is in the UK. The garage is very long.

So long enough to actually put a car in, AND have some useful work space as well.  What is not to like?

Not long enough for 2 cars unless you are talking classic Mini.

We have a 30’ garage, I think it was described as ‘tandem’ rather than ‘double’ when I bought the house although it’s also wider than normal, with two doors and windows, a sink, extractor and its own fuse box, all so it could be used as a workshop.  You could have got two family cars in it back when it was built and cars were smaller

I actually didn’t want the garage as it shades out the whole back garden and I’m too lazy to garage my car in the first place.  But there wasn’t much choice in my area of search. Then I met my OH and he fell in love with it me and now it’s a workshop for a growing collection of mountain bikes.

You are not alone.  If I were househunting, a loo directly off living space/ kitchen would be right at the top of my 'no way' list.

Easily remedied in this property though - turn the loo into a walk in pantry and build a nice utility area and a cloakroom at the rear of that waste of space garage.
Seems to be quite normal in new builds these days, particularly smaller homes. Wether that means the general public is accepting or just have to buy what is available I do not know. I think I would choose toilet off the kitchen over no second WC but am glad I don’t have to make said choice. Agree with everyone who wonders what the EA was thinking making it so prominent.
