Is that a bath with a door for the elderly? I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild. Although, it's not entirely clear how you would go about closing the gap.joho said:1 -
Apart from the door in the bath for easy access, I am not convinced that this house is ideal for the over 60s, yet that seems to be how it is being marketed. Full price without the equity release is £450+.joho said:0 -
My grandmother used to have one and there was a section that pulled up from the bottom and was pushed in to place against a lip on the side of the bath with some clips. The weight of the water pushed it against the side to keep it sealed.hedgewitchery said:

Edit: I can't find any examples of them but my grans must have been 80's in era.
I always thought it was cool because it was like a BMW Z1's doors:

I think it has been converted to a step in shower - no door or door removed.hedgewitchery said:

What I don't understand about those baths with doors is, when you're done, you must have to stay sitting in there while the water drains out, right? Sounds a bit chilly.1

Very famous English example of the "International Style". Not cheap at £3M and only has 2 bathrooms for 8 bedrooms. It was saved from demolition in 1962 when only just over 30 yrs oldPatr100 said:"High & Over" - A significant Modernist home":High and Over is now considered to be one of the most significant Modernist buildings of the 20th century. “In 1931 all Buckinghamshire was scandalised by the appearance, high above Amersham of a concrete house in the shape of a letter “Y” was John Betjemans response. Pevsner’s Buildings of England, Tachens World Architecture and Irvings 1001 Buildings You Must See Before You Die all regarded High and Over as an iconic masterpiece. Some people who lived locally named the house the “Aeroplane House” as it was thought that the winged roof terraces looked a little like the wings of a ‘plane.
