PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. It could be a fantastic plot as it is for someone.
A bungalow near me has sold their garden and a company is building three houses in it. Access is stupidly tight, the houses look squashed in... almost like they wern't supposed to be there / obvious the developer is looking to cash in rather than produce quality homes.
Remember, there is far more countryside than building in our country. I'm not a fan of building on countryside but there are plenty of places you can build nice homes with medium gardens instead of the postage stamp many people seem to settle for these days. Especially when more people will start working from home, having somewhere to be able to go out and relax in is more important than it's been in recent years.
Invitation is firmly there to message me to discuss further instead of clogging up this thread.2 -

Or we can just defend every inch of it and watch as houses get even less affordable.2 -

Especially when more people will start working from home, having somewhere to be able to go out and relax in is more important than it's been in recent years. All those arguments were what persuaded us 19 years ago to leave the over crowded, over priced, over restricted south east of England, and move to the Highlands, where we were able to buy a readily available cheap building plot and build our own house. 19 years later we have just completed building or second self build house that stands on 1/3 acre plot in the countryside, a plot you would die for in SE England. It was the vicious circle of needing a well paid job to pay the big mortgage on a small house that kept me there for so long before I saw the light.

How's this for gorgeous! It's bound to go for much more than the OO price.Another one, but not my style at all. Much prefer the first one.

Yes it looks typical of a developer squeezing 1 more house in what would have been better as a green open space.
