I'm admiring the ground floor plan of this £8.5m manor house.   Good to be able to spread out, & not to have to fight over who gets the sofa!: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-83477387.html

Now I just wonder if they'd be open to a cheaper offer, because of, you know, the coronavirus.  A much, much, much, much cheaper offer.

It’s an £8.5m millstone. Very lovely, but you need staff to maintain it, and you need to manage them. It’s a big job, even if you have the money.

A 3 seater sofa in the bedroom...with room to spare...sigh....

Yes, I imagine it would take the cleaner a while to get around.    You'd probably have to up her hours from two to three, and do the ironing yourself!

Sorry, impossible left turn off Bathwick hill in a Porsche, Lexus or anything remotely acceptable as a town car. Glaringly obvious down-side, I'm afraid.

Ambleside, you can't move for wannabe walkers clacking round the place with their shiny new boots, untarnished waterproof jackets, and the walking sticks. Ambleside is a nice place outside of tourist season which is usually 51 weeks of the year.

Way over priced for the local market (not far from me)  £300K would be more like it.  I have a 5 bedroom, more traditional built, that you could buy for £280K.  Particularly as going forward, it will be classed as "non standard construction" and may become hard to mortgage.
