I'm admiring the ground floor plan of this £8.5m manor house. Good to be able to spread out, & not to have to fight over who gets the sofa!: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-83477387.htmlNow I just wonder if they'd be open to a cheaper offer, because of, you know, the coronavirus. A much, much, much, much cheaper offer.

It’s an £8.5m millstone. Very lovely, but you need staff to maintain it, and you need to manage them. It’s a big job, even if you have the money. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?4

You'd probably have to up her hours from two to three, and do the ironing yourself!I think this place is far more manageable. And you could keep the other £5m in the bank for a rainy day: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-90336995.html

Here's another massive one. Hasn't sold in six months and perhaps the old style isn't popular:

Glaringly obvious down-side, I'm afraid.

Fantasy house shopping again with imaginary millions. I like the look of this place!:Although I think I'd rather stretch the non-existent budget and go for this one instead:On the other side of the country, this looks worth £5m of anyone's money!:

Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.4 -
FreeBear said:Not sure I'm that keen on this one... A bit too much GD.Way over priced for the local market (not far from me) £300K would be more like it. I have a 5 bedroom, more traditional built, that you could buy for £280K. Particularly as going forward, it will be classed as "non standard construction" and may become hard to mortgage.
