Taking your life in your hands on the stairs in this place. A nightime trip to the loo from bed 3 involves 3 flights of stairs and passing through 2 other bedrooms. A mere snip at nearly £800K

Why do people arrange their lounges like that? I see it in a lot of new build show homes too.

You have to awkwardly twist your neck to see the TV, for hours... Or just stare at the fireplace.
    My guess is either:

    a) the TV is there for grandchildren/family who don't care and the actual owners rarely watch or

    b) sit with your legs up on the two seater sofa so you're always directed at the TV. Our TV is a bit off centre in the room (only place to put it) and that's what we do!

why 2 flights of stairs? there seems to be a toilet on both sides of the 1st floor.
even so really od cobbled together layout.

Actually, I rather like the quirkiness of it. Don't think it would put me off (if it was in my price range). Mr S would agree with you.

Indeed. A fun little cottage just lacking in garden space and a cellar.
Also has a quaint outside privy & shower.
I think it's rather cute too, however the frontage isn't particularly attractive. That house would look stellar with a nice climbing rose trellis up that front blank wall.

Maybe because it isn't healthy for your electrical equipment to be hung above a heat source like an open fire or a working woodstove.

Assuming it's a real fireplace, but why not just move the sofas?

I have a very similar arrangment.  Personlly, don't like the TV dominating our living room.  Perhaps they are the same.
