Many of the rooms are studios or workshops so it is also a working space or partly a showcase for a designer for clients to visit. We are talking about Hoxton here, pretty much the heart of Hipsterville, London for those who can afford it. It's actually quite sensible to have a dark bedroom away from it all.moneysavinghero said:
What a !!!!!! of a makeover. Like how even the owner accepts they need something a little less garish for the bedroom.YellowCarBlueCar said:https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/77615955#/
Antidote to the grey/magnolia 'won't offend anyone' approach. Plus you get insulted by the furniture into the bargain
Quite a few walls are white so I imagine it wouldn't take a huge paint job to remove the areas of garishness if desired.

I need my eyesight testing. It looks like Elvis sat watching TV in picture 15. Maybe he exited Stage Left and got lost?YellowCarBlueCar said:https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/77615955#/

Some policies cover malicious damage. I must admit that mine doesn't!ProDave said:
I would feel VERY let down if a landlords buildings policy did not cover that.GDB2222 said:
What insurance? If you let your house to tenants who wreck it, there's no insurance cover.ProDave said:od244051 said:
Pic 9 is the biggest giveaway. You don't have those pipes in the ceiling.tooldle said:
If you look closely you can see some ventilation installation, still in place within the ceilings.NaughtiusMaximus said:
Interesting, I wasn't aware of that.tooldle said:Often, ceilings are knocked out to install the necessary, lighting, heating and ventilation system etc. Water damage is also common as these operations run at high RH. The people who do these things are not concerned about the damage they cause.Yes that's the normal lousy flexible pipe that connects the ceiling extract fan to the outside. My question still remains. If this was the result of a canabis farm, why has the insurance not paid out to reinstate it? Why is is being sold in this state without repair?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Another time warp property in the same village as my last post. For someone that browses Rightmove a lot, I'm surprised at just how many retro properties are out there. Not in a bad way, just surprising!

I do love a time warp house. That dining table & chairs takes me straight back to my parent's house.

That wallpaper! Beautiful place. I find that style of decoration so much more homely than modern stuff. Lots of people like that sort of thing, for one. It's only paint salesmen and interior designers who tell you that 'it must go'.Caraway90 said:Another time warp property in the same village as my last post. Modern interior fittings simply aren't as good, often, as seventies stuff. I've been in lots of newbuilds and renovation projects and the quality of the Far Eastern stuff, interior fittings and furniture, just isn't there. It almost makes sense to eke old pieces out for as long as possible.3
