Contrary to popular belief, that would not put me off viewing if it was the type and location of house I was looking for.  Though I might go prepared for a pong.

Ok, can anybody figure out (1) what on earth they've been doing for toilet purposes, given I can't see any hint of an outside toilet or a location where any toilet used to be, and (2) if there's no drainage, what happens to the water in the kitchen sink and bath?

The garden looks very productive and full of 'occupational soil,' which is dark in character, so it's fairly easy to guess where the contents of the dunny have been distributed over the years. They're on chalk, so soakaways for grey water would presumably work very well.

Maybe that's the secret to their lush garden - a little bit of extra special fertilizer? ;)

That's what I thought, however, the garden does look very well maintained

From the outside that looks remarkably like the house from "Fresh Meat"

Check out the lamp in pic 2 and what was on the top of it in pic 10.
Other than the 100 kinds of "nope" in the interior decoration, that garden! If you want to make your garden look incredibly long and thin, paint the fences in a light colour with a dark colour at the end. Just a few 10s of pounds on some trees or shrubs at the end would at least cover the overlooking houses.
that's a bit harsh. Sure, it's a bit of an acquired taste but at least all the surfaces are fairly neutral and it's just their clutter that is ugly or weird.
I will expand then as I don't think it's the clutter
Fireplace stuffed with logs but no fire
6 textures in the kitchen surfaces
    grey rads
big step down to the conservatory
    no mixer taps in bathroom

    All nopes in my book

What a beautiful house. With some heating and hot water installed and a bathroom and drainage connection sorted out that will make a lovely home for someone.

Do you think it would have originally have been thatched roofed like the property next door as well? Would be lovely to turn it back to thatched if it was.

With some work getting the essential service connections in and making the property mortgageable again I could see a nice family home there.
