We're currently in a rental and I'd be mortified if my LL thought I was keeping his house like this!RelievedSheff said:

The tenants may have a vested interest in delaying sale for as long as possible.
The telly on the mantlepiece looks a bit precarious.
The landlord must be well pleased with how his property is being advertised............................0 -
You are going to need to be a Sheffield Wednesday fan to appreciate this house.

What the blurb fails to mention is that prior to it becoming a music studio, it was the home of author Denys Val Baker (1917-1984) and family from 1967 to 1972. Denys wrote many autobiographical books about his family life in Cornwall and voyages in his ex MFV "Sanu" (now broken up) and his 1971 book "LIfe up the Creek" chronicles the family's first 3 yrs at the "Old Sawmills".Oxon said:One for music fans https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-93940883.htmlIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales2 -
I think when the damage is so extensive that only a roofless shell is left, it is pointless trying to re-create what it once was as it will just be fake. What is gone is gone. Surely it would be better, given a blank canvas, to create something, stunningly modern but beautifulOwain_Moneysaver said:You know it's a fixer-upper when there are no internal photos.

Terrible, blurry photography. Dank and drab colours. Broken kitchen cupboard oor. Strange layout of the sitting room!#
At least it's priced accordingly!

Like a housing estate? Seems wrong for one family to own all that.lincroft1710 said:

I'll never forget when I left a bedsit, handing over the keys to the landlord and the look on his face while he said 'I don't have to get the cleaners in!!'. He was amazed I had cleaned it, I couldn't believe he was surprised I had. Made me wonder about his previous tenants!Morbier said:

Reminds me of when we left a 2 bed house some years ago. The inventory clerk (who also checked us in) walked around with a look of wonder on her face saying it looked better checking out than when we'd checked in 2 years earlier. We'd repainted most rooms in the same colours plus regrouted the bathroom and en suite and cleaned it to within an inch of its life including the carpets. It was like a show home when we checked out.2
