@FreeBear you may well be right about the date. I had a double take on the living room as it felt more Edwardian than 1930s but the dining room fireplace and doors seem 1930s. I was just trawling through hundreds of properties on rightmove with the keyword ‘modernisation’. I noticed some of the neighbours have beautiful tiled fireplaces.

The top and bottom ones are Arts and Crafts.

Last one has an air of Victorian about it. The first two, relatively plain, so may be 1930s.
Or you could go Art Deco.

This is way too common in listings

My theory is mainly it's estate agents being lazy and bad at their job. I can't believe most sellers are being secretive about house size, although it may be a few percent.

I totally agree. I think with some of the newer houses it’s because they are tiny! Though that would be obvious on viewing.

Doesn't appear to have central heating. Using those oil filled heaters must be pretty expensive.

And during a recent weekend in London, she loved looking at "how expensive houses in Richmond are", which was close to her hotel

There's a Richmond in London, it's very nice.

But let's criticise the grammar anyway.

Should it also be a semi colon instead of a comma?
Wouldn't start a sentence with "And".
The "which" in "which is close" relates to the houses rather than Richmond. So that is wrong

    All lazy and slack standards.
