In that angle, the toilet looks smaller and even less associated with the house. Methinks the man doth protest too much.Patr100 said:
Yeah the toilet unit appears to be on what was the grassy area next to the bus holding area , not front of the house,RHemmings said:'Father' (BTL'er) says that he can't sell his house (rental property) because TFL have plonked a big toilet in front of it. He's had to (gasp) reduce the asking price, and has had only two viewings in three weeks.

Here's the listing on Rightmove. Which doesn't show a toilet at all. So, I'm not sure how the toilet would stop viewings.

Since the unit is not visible on Rightmove nor on Street View, it will have had nothing to do with viewings booked,
he is just drawing unnecessary attention to it. You can hardly see it from the house itself. It may bother some people, others may not care. Nor a landlord renting out.
Of course the noise and traffic from the school opposite didn't seem to bother him.
That would be more of a no no for me.

The Independent article I linked to mentions this:
Brett Kemp says he’s struggling to sell his house because of the temporary toilet installed next to it. Picture shows a toilet that was replaced by a new one last week. (Brett Kemp)
So, the toilet in the BBC article is most likely the new one.0 -
The Independent article also shows the new one in the second picture . Maybe it was updated since you first posted?RHemmings said:

I would be more put off by the school and the potential issues with parking & noise etc.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.272

I think the Independent article at least is written to create sympathy for the owner, calling him a father and calling it his house. Later on it says that it's a rented house and he's the landlord. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be sympathetic to landlords at all, but I have less sympathy if someone's investment loses value compared to an owner-occupier. On average.1 -

No internal viewings have been possible, and no internal viewings will be possible before the auction. I guess that quite a lot will still be in the house on auction day. Including, I suspect: very uncooperative tenants.EssexHebridean said:Do we think the trampoline is included...?

That the backyard photos are very low resolution contributes to my suspicion.1 -
Nice family home, owners clearly have 3 young children. Bet they have a nice, wholesome family photo above the fireplace...
