I recently looked at the houses of the Beatles as well (but not the sales histories though) and I was surprised there was no blue plaques on these, but there is one on John’s home, but not sure about Paul’s. Although the latter are owned by National Trust and you have to pay to go on a tour of them.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.671

In London English Heritage coordinate most blue plaques. But elsewhere coverage relies on organisations like local Civic Trusts. If a scheme runs, there has to be a nomination, agreement from the notable person (if they are alive) or their family and then permission from the building owner and (if the building is listed/conservation area) the Council. And then it has to be funded, along with an unveiling ceremony. It’s probably not worth the investment of time if the building is already a museum or similar, or on well established tours.
Can you tell I have experience here 😂Fashion on the Ration

I'm going to see if I can put alerts into Rightmove for these and other houses.
There must be other houses of people who are not so famous. I wonder where the Gallagher brothers were born and grew up. Or Sid Vicious. Damon Albarn's birthplace is probably really really expensive. EDIT: Childhood home in Leytonstone: https://www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/11565343.damon-albarn-unveils-blue-plaque-childhood-home/
EDIT: No houses in the road where the Gallagher brothers grew up have any sold prices on Zoopla at all. Nor any other information that I can see. I initially guessed that they would be council houses. But, it appears that the other half of the semi in which the Gallaghers grew up is currently for sale: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143616857#/?channel=RES_BUY0 -

Not my house, I'll point out. But, I could easily have ended up in a time-warp house like this one. And, I wouldn't have been too worried about it.2
