Lovely indeed! Not so very far from us too. :)
Agreed. There are an awful lot of things in that house, but absolutely every one is in its place. The garden is excellently maintained too.

Bit different from this one around my way. Where every single photo looks $*!@ and depressing. It's being sold by MMoA too. Let's see how many ways we can find to put off buyers in a single listing...

A house with everything but then you see the surroundings and it's an "estate in the country" rather than an "escape to the country"

Personally I'd go for something smaller but much closer to The Lakes
Each to their own. I know that area very well, often walking on the Leven's Hall estate.  It is a lovely spot with good access to the Lakes, including public transport, without the crowds.

It looks like it has 'a place for everything'.  That's what I think my 'workshop' looks like - at least what I'd like it to look like.  Reality, sadly, is woefully different.

I think if I was spending that much dosh though, the one thing I'd hope it would buy me would be space - ie distance from neighbours.  I'd sacrifice some bedrooms for a bit more yardage at the perimeter.  Although it's a lot of house for the money in that part of the world.

ETA: Have you noticed how many properties we've seen lately that have some sort of elephant in the garden?
Yes, but I rather liked the nostalgia value of seeing a cartwheel and a garden boat.

Is it actually Lunesdale? We visited Lancaster last year and it feels like a distinct area to the Lakes. A bit like the difference between the Yorkshire Wolds and the North Yorkshire Moors. A ‘softer’ place.

I'd concur - much as I love the Lakes, I do like that area too - I've driven past it many times - like to shop in Milnthorpe - in fact I'm just doing some sewing with some fabric I got on the market there - and love Sandside and Arnside.  We used to stay in the Lyth Valley and it's still well positioned to get to anywhere in the Lakes. Plus you'd get rather more for your money further south.

I agree. Or, indeed, further north where we are (Penrith area). We have the lovely (and relatively unknown) Vale of Eden/north Pennines on our doorstep as well as being within walking distance of Ullswater and a short drive away from Haweswater. Not to mention the Borders being just up the road (as you can tell, I rather like it here :))

No, quite a bit north, near the Kent estuary.  It's actually only 2, maybe 3 miles from the Lake District National Park.

Not a house, and I presume this is not 'spot the estate agent', but 'spot the seller'.
