In many ways that is a sad house. Sad because it is so cheap, meaning (no offence meant) it is a grotty estate in a deprived area. If someone gave you a free plot of land you would not be able to build a house for that price, even one as basic as that.Owain_Moneysaver said:Amazing selection of wood finishes throughout

The outside photos only serve to show that some kinds of render soak up rain water and become a dreary dark colour. If that were mine as soon as the weather dries out I would want the exterior pictures re taken and updated.
And sad because it was clearly a well loved house, in spite of it's quirks and less than perfect location.3 -
But it is in the popular town of Alloa - Will need to check maps to see where that is...ProDave said:

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

A property in same estate sold for £18,700 in 2022.
The word "alloa" brings back memories of being a small child left at grandparents on Saturday afternoon, grandstand on the TV, knowing that we were now nearly at the end of this strange "football pools" thing and soon i'd be getting freshly baked chocolate cake for tea. "Alloa Athletic one, Brechin City (pause) two!"
It was a joy later in life to visit those hallowed place names such as the academical Hamilton, the athletic musselburgh and the forever moving forward Wigtown and Bladnoch.

Yes they certainly love their wood! I can’t stand it. I couldn’t see the saloon doors in the bedroom, but the conservatory looks like a 1970’s clubhouse on a caravan site perhaps.Even the garden looks really sad and unloved.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.270

I disagree that the house is sad and unloved. The decoration style is from the early 1970s and has clearly been well maintained and therefore has probably been very well loved for over half a decade. Whilst the style is very dated, the care with which it has been maintained is admirable.Abbafan1972 said:Yes they certainly love their wood! I can’t stand it. Yeah, I'm baffled as to where people are getting "sad and unloved" from. It's dated obviously but the seat in the shower suggests an older person lives/lived there and maybe they just liked that decor or couldn't afford to update it. It's clearly cared for and absolutely spotless. Clean white curtains, all surfaces sparkling, no signs of mould or damage. It may well have been spruced up for the pictures but if was sad and unloved then surely there'd be longstanding signs of that, that a whip round with Mr Muscle wouldn't hide!Liz1966 said:
