Pip - If you toggle the HTML View this might work for you (I have saved it in my signature to copy and adapt and in a document) - hopefully it still works (they have just done another update) This is red or this is blue or this is green or, using colour codes, this is #DB7900. The code for the above is as follows: This is red or this is blue or this is green or, using colour codes, this is #DB7900 It is fiddly, and it will take time to get it right; and if you forget to put it back into HTML mode when you edit it, it will lose the code! So keep a working copy in a text editor that you can copy and paste again when necessary. Once you are using it regularly, you can simply copy and paste from previous posts.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I've been keeping track of my spends this month and have gone over budget. I didn't keep my receipts which was a mistake as not able to look back and see what I've been buying. Will do that next month.

I have one bank account that's purely for groceries, I don't keep my receipts because I know that absolutely everything comes out of that one account, and nothing else does. At one point I did look at all my receipts for a month to see what I spent money on, and (I hope) I've built the lessons from that into my meal planning now. (I don't think I could bear to do it again!)
Declaring for February (what a satisfying phrase that is! A new shiny month therefore beckons!) at £548.89/£600. I am well pleased. My meal plan takes me up to the end of next week with only fresh stuff, bread, milk, eggs, fruit/veg to buy. I am going to do my best to avoid that 'new budget' splurge which has happened in the past. Becoming a veggie family has definitely helped cut down our spends. Budget for March is £550. March challenge, here I come!5 -
Declaring feb at £880. Better than January but must do better!3

Declaring for February with a healthy carry forward to March, had to be really strict on occasions with the no buying until freezers empty, spent about £100 over February and starting to be able to see what I have, easier to slide the drawers back in.Do I need it or just want it.2

Morning all, just coming in to confirm my spends of £417.83/£370, a little over this month, although some of it will go into March. Ended up spending £12.74 in Ald! the other day when I went in for bin bags as they had quite a bit of meat for half price, managed to pick up a pork casserole pack, 3 breaded chicken shapes packets, a large and medium mince packs and a large pork crackling joint as well as the bin bags and some crisps.
Hubby has also bought meal deals for lunch on a few occasions, think I'm going to take that out of another budget from March though.
See you all in the March chat.Grocery Challenge 2024

Our February finished yesterday. We didn't spend anymore money so the following are our stats. (Can't figure out how to colour or enlarge, sorry)
£231.40/216.22.
£15.18 over.
So January and February totals £495.48. So not quite £8.26 a day.
Our aim per month is £240 which works out to aproximatly £7.87 a day. We aren't too far off. Hoping the budget will even out as the months go on as January was £23.78 over and February £15.18 over so I have hope that March will only be a little over if it is over at all.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy1
