Last main shop today, £29.18. Real budget one as we overspent at the beginning of the month, but got some good deals and yellow sticker vegan pasties in Morrisons (15p for 2!)
£355.94 total, plus round ups this month takes it to £367.07. So £3 left which will probably go on bread and a couple of little bits like that in the week. New month starts next Friday, got all the meals sorted up to then.

We are going to go over budget again this month as we have an A&C delivery scheduled for Monday totalling £28.50 and I think we'll need up to £10 of produce and products, on top of that, before the month ends. Again whatever we are over by will be taken out of next months budget.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -

For a tiny kitchen it made such a mess!
Replaced the milk, picked up wraps, celery, an avocado, hot dog buns, and a 2kg bag of cat food. I meant to stock up on cat food when it was on sale but entirely forgot and it's bloomin' €3.49 a bag more expensive now. Not my week! lol

Three lots of shopping today. We spent £6.50 in the Farm Shop (carrots, potatoes, broccoli and onions), and £4.46 at Lidl (3 aubergines, black bread and some olive bread rolls). With some £2 coins, 5p’s and coppers that we’ve donated to the moneybox, that brings our Grocery Challenge shopping to £117.10/£130.20, leaving £13.10 for the remainder of the month.
The final shop that we did was a trip to the local butcher shop. I don’t track Meat Fund spending in the Grocery Challenge money but thought I’d share. For £43.67, we purchased a large chicken, 1kg stewing steak, 4 huge pork chops, 2kg minced beef and 600g lambs liver. By my reckoning, that works out as 16 or 17 meals, which break down as follows:-
1 Chicken = roast dinner (legs) + 4 portions risotto + 4 portions Chinese chicken curry + stock
1kg Stewing Steak = 2 x 4 portions beef stew or curry
4 pork chops = if cut up is 2 x 4 portions pork stew
2kg mince = 8 x 4 portions bolognese sauce/chilli
Lamb’s liver = 1 x 6 portions Liver in Orange Sauce
So that’s almost a month’s worth of meat-based meals for £3.67 over what we normally set aside each month. And only one meal - the initial roast - won’t feed four or more.

£1.84 spent today ☹️.
My last lot of bananas went very ripe so wanted to make banana bread to not waste them. Only didn't have any baking powder to make it so went out to get that. That and a couple of items later and I was able to make the cake in my pressure cooker.
Banana cake is resting on the side now. OH keeps eyeing it up as although he doesn't like bananas on their own he loves banana cake.
OHs dinner is beef stew with sweet potato.
My dinner is sweet and sour vegetable rice.
£191.70/216.22.
£24.52 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy7 -
