Declaring Feb's total
Feb £99.59/of £100 Month (Annual 27 Dec 19 - 26 Dec 20) £177.36/£1,325 cat food £64.15
Spent out of £100: Jan £77.77 Feb £99.59 Mar £
Jan cat food £71.33, Feb £64.15, Mar £
Last food spend for Feb now done:
£8 on cat food added to total.
£10.66 on food bringing me in just under budget. I took a list to the shop and next to each item was predicted spend. I then saw a couple of yellow stickered items and got those and therefore didn't get an item on the list. I also put back one of the 'stocking up toiletries' items mentioned in my previous post to ensure i came in on budget. i got my calculator out and totted everything up just to make sure i didn't go overDefinitely a good thing - past me would have just gone ' oh it's only £1.30, 75p, 49p....' and there you see it all mounts up to overspending. So i am very pleased with myself and with this and it is thanks to elsiepac for running this thread and all the people sharing ideas on here and posting encouragement. Also, thanks to Suffolk Lass who wrote a nice post telling us all to keep going when a few of us had gotten a bit disheartened.
The food shopping got me: toiletries and coffee - stocking up items - 3 yellow stickered items (2 meals and 1 bread.. the meals weren't all that but bad news, the need for a treat and something fast that (i thought) would taste treaty, all worked together on this). Veg and yogurt.
I'll pop back in here until people stop posting but will see you all in March's thread.1st May 2025

You know what? I might have made it after all, if I hadn't thrown in the towel! I've only needed a couple of top-up shops; dried cat food online & a few bits & bobs at the supermarket today (well under £30) so it hasn't been too horrendous after all. Most days have been NSDs on the grocery front! But she did run riot in the Edinburgh Woollen Mill in her wheelchair & spend over £100... but as she hadn't been in a clothes shop or bought herself anything new (except some socks online) for over 4 years, who can blame her?!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7

Declaring February at £413.03/£400. Slightly over but I’ve plenty in to start March.
I don’t like the new forum so I don’t post much but I do want to keep up with this challenge.
see you over on the March thread.4 -
I'm so close to the end of the month, and it's like death by a thousand papercuts on the budget. We've got builders in, and we're keeping them in tea and biscuits. We've also had quite a few visitors outside the usual gang, and needed some unexpected little bits. So that's an extra 4 trips to lidl and tesco in the last week and a bit, all under €17 each.
Tonight is going to be something involving toast - work are doing lunch for Women's day, which is lovely. We have friends over tomorrow and I've no idea yet what I'm making. Will need a rummage in the freezer tonight to see what will work. No doubt I'll be short a couple of things again!5 -
I managed to limit today's shop to a couple of pizzas, milk and a baguette so might make it! I like paring down the list to the bare minimum, it does make me think about what I'm doing. I need to do more of this at the beginning of the month!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.3

Right, going to declare at €363.27/€400.
It's a bit cheaty as I went to t3sco this morning to get a tenners worth of things for dinner tonight, and thought "I'm just not bothered coming back to do the big shop this weekend" so got the rest as it's payday. Will add that to my March total.4 -
£27 in Morrisons, a few y.s. items tins of chick peas which I had to search hard on the shelves for, and a few other bits, picked up a bottle of brandy, (different budget) as I had a spend £50 and get extra 5000 more points, on the web site it is on offer £16, charged £18, rang customer services to complain, apparently those are web only prices and can vary in store, read the web site, I cannot find where it is stated in T&Cs, or anywhere else, got credited 2000 points which is worth £2, but everyone be aware if you browse the web site to see what`s on offer, and make your shopping list to go to store, THOSE PRICES MAY NOT APPLY, just going to have a look at my supermarket see what applies thereDo I need it or just want it.4

Declaring for February
Declaring at £123.90/£132.20, which means I have £6.30 to roll into March’s budget.
As others have mentioned, I’m still getting used to the new forum. I know some HTML from the old days on the forums of < cough > The Motley Fool < / cough >, but I wish MSE’d publish a glossary to the HTML used on this new forum, because none of the tricks I know work and it’d be nice to add colour back into our posts.
