What are your actual assessment period dates? Can't see them listed, only the date you made your claim, unless I missed them?

That and the pay date is what matters. Just because you claimed on the 23rd doesn't always mean the claim started then. Have you claimed UC previously?

No I've not claimed it before. 23.12 to 23.1 thanks

Have you got an appointment next week?

If not, drop into your job centre and speak with the front of house team.

Take your payslip and bank statement and they should be able to sort it for you.

They will be bale to check the RTI feed to see what date the employer reported paying it, as that is the date RTI uses, which isn't always the same date you received it.

They do have discretion to override the RTI when presented with proof that you received it on a different date. Dispute it and give them proof as soon as possible - being blunt about it, this was suggested yesterday so you should already have phoned them up about it or popped into the Jobcentre earlier today.
  • Is it not possible to get an advance now? Or does it not work like that?
Also follow the advice of showing your actual pay day ...

It is possible to get an advance
    https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/get-an-advance-first-payment
Just have to bear in mind that it means reduced payments over the next 12 months as the advance is paid back.

However the advance is based on the first estimated payment so if this is nil I assume a request for an advance will be refused.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

How awful, that is just when you need it, a month and 7 days wait, then no payment, and no advance either, and what happens if you have childcare to pay to go to work? It doesn't make sense

Where calcotti provided the legislation allowing DWP staff to exercise discretion to override the RTI info.
The final post (and the case law quoted), may also be helpful for the OP.
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.
