my only choice is pay or get my belongings confiscated,I will pay them.If I do this, I will get rid of the immediate threat, but once I've done that, can I still reverse this whole thing?
We said what to do. No answering the door.
Park the car in SOMEONE ELSE's garage. Not on your drive - no cars on the drive.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, you won't.
Nope, you'd have a CCJ for six years wrecking your credit.

Yep, I understand all this very clearly, but I live in a flat in the middle of London, nobody has a garage (or a drive) around here within a 2 mile radius. My car has to be parked on the street sadly. I'm keeping fingers crossed that bailiffs will give me extra time to chase SAR documents, looks like that's my only hope here.0 -
You will be best served in dealing with bailiffs/enforcement agents by making contact with 'Bailiff Advice Online'. Sheila, who provides this service, has an extremely good reputation for assisting people with bailiff issues.
Calls and the email enquiry service are free.

At least park in another road if your permit allows. Don't be a sitting duck as Newlyns are (reportedly) a horrible firm, and you cannot let them clamp your car and force you to pay. DO NOT let this happen.
Can you leave the car at work for a fortnight?

Unfortunately I have to pay a huge amount for the work car park (it's just an expensive public one), so that's also not a good option. Thank you for the link, I have sent an email, I hope they get back to me.
In the meantime, I will call the bailiff first thing and see if they are willing to hold off until I can get the court to set this aside. (Don't fancy my chances but it seems to be the only thing I can do for now). I have sent off the SAR's to the solicitors and parking company, so I guess for now I've done all I can. Thank you all for the advice, I'll report back once I know more.0 -
no , they will not hold off on your sayso , and in fact may act quicker to get there cut
contact bailiffs online as you are a sitting duck0 -
I can see a clamp looming. Nothing will stop bailiffs and they will pick on the easiest and most valuable spoils. They won't be looking to take your microwave, kettle and iron to cover the relatively small amount owing, they'll take your car and even sell it for peanuts, as long it's just enough to cover the debt. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. NO ringing Newlyn. NONONONO.
Do you want to tip them off that time is of the essence so they come round quicker?
Really?! You don't seem to know who they are and what they do. Terrible reputation.
That was not advised, so stop saying you are about to do things we didn't advise!

Ok I understand, but they have to give me until their deadline before they start coming over, don't they? That's still about 6 days away from now, I need to a way to stop this somehow before that deadline comes. There is no way I'll even get a response to the SAR's in that time, and I can't have people banging on my door or looking for my car in the neighbourhood, that's nuts. I need this to be put on hold until I have the evidence, otherwise I'm literally looking at playing hide and seek for months, and I can't do that surely.0 -
Also, looking online it's unclear if I can get a CCJ set aside / cleared if I do just make the payment and then go through the whole legal process, but surely this is doable? I would honestly rather pursue that option than play hide and seek with a bunch of thugs.0
