Barclays say I can claim my PPI
Comments
-
Yet again I have just got off the phone to Alley, they explained to me any successful claims that go to the OR Alley would get their 10% from there.
And if I got any they would have their 10% cut from mine.0 -
They're still not right. The OR won't be paying them anything
Why would they want to do that?0 -
The big alarm bells for me are Barclays would not know you had ppi on 26 accounts if they werent all with Barclays. They also would never advise you can claim or claim it would be a certain amount. Someone here is having you hook, line and sinker for a fool. The deadline has passed months ago. Let it go£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

One bonus of this thread is when Allay take the OP to court and/or appoint bailiffs, they won’t need to tell the story again to get advice.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Alley made it clear to me that they wont chase me at any stage for fees of any kind. And explained to me there has been one successful claim already through me, but the OR had it all minus the percentage that went to Alley. I didnt even know about that until today.
But like I said I am only relaying back here what Alley told me, dont shoot the messenger. They insisted any future successful claims that might go to me, and yes it does sometimes happen regardless of bankruptcy so they said, they get their percentage from my share then.
Its common Alley said for them to get their percentage from the OR. I guess the OR doesnt mind cause its money they wouldn't have otherwise had.
Thats twice I have rang Alley due to me starting to get paranoid from the scaremongering on here, and I dont know what its cost me in calls yet, but hey oh, at least I know I wont get stung for fees from Alley or anyone, and might get some money back. Money I payed.0 -
OP you are listening to people who don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to Insolvency and ignoring advice on here from people that do.
Say the claim was worth £56,000. That gets paid (by law) to the OR, who will charge a 15% trustee fee. That means £8,400 comes off the top. That leaves £47,600. The OR then takes their fees which are £8,775. That leaves £38,825. They then have to put an ad in the London Gazette that’s announces there is a dividend to be paid to your creditors. This ad has to be there for a minimum of £28 days and the cost is paid from the fund. If no one else claims, the £38,000 you owed gets paid to your creditors. At this point all that’s left is £825 BUT Allay are going to sending you an invoice for £5,600 as you agreed to give them 10% of what they won for you. So you’ll have to pay it. The OR will NOT pay it as they only pay bankruptcy debts and an invoice from Allay is certainly not.
Do you now see why everyone is telling you not to do this??0 -
Minkym00. Ok so why didnt Alley explain it that way?
I specifically rang Alley twice today with these questions and asked how it works. They said I dont get fees from anyone, the OR or Alley. Why would they lie to me?
I specifically asked Alley where do they get their percentage back from, thinking its going to be me after everything said on here, but they said it doesnt work like that, and explained any successful claims that go to the OR they get it from there, they certainly didnt say the OR charges anyone cause I asked that too. They should know surely?0 -
They do. But the people who answer the phone don't have a clue and wouldn't tell you if they did
They know they can rely on the contract, regardless of any conversations.
All they need to do is to keep you happy for now.0 -
But Alley are specialists with dealing with this all the time, are you saying they dont have a clue?
The problem I have is put yourself in my shoes, if you ring a specialist PPI establishment for advice after not being convinced with all the mixed comments on here who would you choose to believe in the end?
You all claim to be experts but how do I know its not scaremongering?
I dont know what else to do or say. I explained I didnt even know how this really started. All I remember quite a while ago was I was getting pestered from Alley to make sure I claim my PPI as the deadline was running out, but I dont remember signing anything online. Not sure how they got my details cause I was always told not to bother claiming PPI.
Who can I ring now for proper advice what to do? Maybe my old OR? But I havent had his number for over 10 years.0
