So going forward you are either going to have to cancel and rebook through the main part of easyjet or spend time explaining to your daughter that she could well be sat by the other adult and supporting her in feeling secure in that. I notice you do not mention how old your daughter is?
A lot of children suffer anxiety if moved away from their parents, regardless of whether they are adopted or not. I have a friend who has adopted three girls, they used to suffer anxiety when away from her as did her own children, what they have to learn is that you will always be there and the separation will not last long. That is how I taught my children to tolerate and then enjoy being away from me.
Regarding the age factor, it would be useful to know if she goes to school in that this would mean she had times when she had to be away from you.
My feeling is that this is not discrimination. You should have checked the T&Cs before you booked, even if you expected to be able to book the seats when you booked the holiday it could have been that those seats were already taken previously. It is very rare that you can guarantee getting such specific seats. If you want them so badly then you have to assume there is someone else that wants them equally badly.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Accepted full refund as I was misadvised and my booking still referred to HO, but I suspect they will not reply.
I will now book with Jet2.

More likely give them their money back to get shot of a troublesome customer who doesn't understand that they got it wrong.
Don't hold your breath on a policy change. It is still 2 separate companies who have their own boards and policy makers.0 -

Well, if they are sitting in those seats then dont they have to be an adult?
edit: yupPassengers are unable to sit in Exit or Emergency row seats if they are:
an infant
sat with an infant on their lap
pregnant
under 16 years of age
deaf or blind
mobility impaired
requiring a seat belt extension
So all this faff for someone who is at least 16. Deary me.0 -

Not always. On some aircraft row 1 exit seats are only A/B/C/D. E & F are standard seats.0 -

That copy and paste was directly from an Easyjet seat selection map and all of Row 1 had that message on it.
In any case, regarding your point, if that is true then the OP is never going to be able to sit in that row on some planes if his daughter is under 16.0 -
The A320s definitely have standard seats for Row 1 E/F. Row 1 D/E/F are bulkhead seats. We're flying on one in a couple of weeks.
Select E or F and the website says "Information about your seat
Please note there is a partition (bulkhead) in front of this Extra Legroom seat.
Please confirm you wish to continue"0
