Car Parking Partnership - Coventry Hospital - LBCCC - POPLA Appeal Rejected

Hi guys, I have the same case as RagingMad. I went for a blood test. Machine did not recognise my car and I had to input manually my number plate and I obviously paid within my time. Same hospital and same PCN of £100. When I received my letter from the Parking Company, I appealed to POPLA with proof of receipt and payment and they rejected my case as they say that though I paid in time and there is proof of payment, I shoud have registered my car with the Hospital Reception on top of my payment and I did not know that though they say it is on their T&Cs written somewhere. I guess now I will be receiving either a letter of notice of a letter from the debt collectors. I know how to act on either case but my question is: if i receive the Debt Collectors Letter and I ignore it, will this affect my credit record? Has the PCN company the power to do so or only the court can do that?

No it won't affect your credit record!
What did the hospital PALS department say when you complained and asked them to help you?
Any more help you need, please start a new thread of your own, because while you might think your case is identical, no two cases are ever identical from start to finish - and it's the 'finish' part which is the important bit! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hi Umkomaas, Thank you for replying so quickly. I am aware that there is a bit of a difference between my case and Ragingmad's case but because it is the same hospital and same company I wanted to put it on here too so Ragingmad can know that he is not alone as I have a similar case. I have not contacted PALS. Should I try? Do you have a contact email address? Do they help?

I have not contacted PALS. Should I try? Do they help? Why would I suggest it otherwise? And if PALS don't help, then there's the Estates Dept, The Security Dept, and as a final (or maybe first) resort, the CEO. Most Trusts have at least one of those from that list.Do you have a contact email address?Have you tried Google? It's just what I would have to do to find the email address for you.As I said earlier, any more help required, please create your own thread. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I wouldn't bother, its a waste of your time. I ended up writing to the head of the trust. They actually replied (to my shock). But they basically appologiesed but said ultimately there was nothing they could do.
I never pursued that as Covid hit and i kind of think he had more pressing issues to deal with.
FYI - Got a FINAL REMINDER from the DCBL ltd - I'm continuing to IGNORE. Which is frustrating because i'd really like to tell them where they can shove it.

Be ready to deal with the court claim though, as we do here every day.

Ok, I'm feeling very smug because I have today just had 'Nasty Car Park Mismanagement Co' and 'Nastier Solicitors' agree to pay me £810 compensation for what was initially an arrogant demand sent to me for £160 for an alleged parking contravention in July 2019. How did I do it? Relatively easily. It was all thanks to GDPR (now UK GDPR). My advice to anyone getting any Parking Charge Notice (or even a Penalty Charge Notice) is to respond immediately, regardless of whether you believe the PCN is valid or not, with a comprehensive Subject Access Request (SAR). It can be almost guaranteed that the car parking company will breach GDPR in some way. You do however need to be capable of ready and properly understanding UK GDPR yourself (or have help from somebody that does). There is also the added benefit of knowing you're putting them to the trouble dealing with your SAR. In my case they made several whopping breaches of GDPR and quickly ended up cancelling the PCN thinking I'd walk away happy. Wrong! I asked them for £750 compensation under Article 82 GDPR. They eventually agreed to pay that plus the £60 court fee because they didn't want it to go to court. Even if you pay the initial £100 claimed, you can still request a SAR and see if you can get something back at your leisure. Best of luck.4

Nice one! I guess you agreed to a gagging order so can’t name them?Did you see this one where the victim refused to settle for £1000 and a gagging order, and went on to get his full £1500 counterclaim awarded for data abuse and harassment?
