Update: Just called StepChange to check in with application status.
She went through some questions with me and in the end she said all seems okay and she will be passing it to drafting team. Fingers crossed it comes through by next week as it would be ideal to get this done before "Breathing Space" time runs out with my creditors which is on around 25th of this month.

I am looking at applying for a DRO will my brother as my landlord be told and will it have an adverse affect on his property, as I would rather he didn’t know about my financial situation but neither do I want problems for his address in the future
Properties are not 'blacklisted' - your credit history just relates to you.
TRX - thanks for the tip re the Brave browser, and don't worry about the breathing space thing. Nothing will happen for months and the DRO freezes everything when it hits1 -

Yes I am not extremely concerned it's just timing would be perfect plus it's my daughters 2nd birthday end of next week and it would be amazing actually enjoying it with her and family rather than being worried about debts back in my mind.
I know a lot of people write this to you but it really is fantastic what you do to help so many people who are at their lowest points in their life. If not this forum I'd probably drop whole DRO application half way through thinking "oh no I don't qualify for this thing"
Thank you once again for your help, time and advises1 -
Thank you so much, I don’t owe him any money so he would not be listed.
as many people have said it’s just a nerve racking time.
up until now I have not missed one payment through the help of family. It’s just from next month there’s no more help.
i had to move from London to wales to become my dad’s career so I am now living on benefits for the first time in my life and I’m 51 so it’s all new to me, but now I’m receiving UC I know there is nothing spare for credit card bills and the panic has hit.So any advice from anyone will be really appreciated
many thanks0 -
Update: (Big one)
After receiving my draft application this afternoon and running around like crazy trying to fit everything in while on my lunch break,
there was few errors on creditors details (Reference numbers and amounts etc) corrected those and my application was submitted literally 15 minutes ago. If i'm honest I thought I would feel much better after submitting the application but I will certainly not until I see my name on the register as I always tend to fear the worse case scenario throughout this whole process... Mixed emotions really but one thing is for certain, I can not be thankful enough to everyone for your help on this forum. I would never gone ahead and done this on my own and without your help.
Thank you!!!

Fingers crossed for you, you've done the hardest bit, now it's just sitting and waiting for the 12 months to be up0 -
Hi again just reading a few of the posts here and there is a mention of having used some credit in the past 3 months is this a problem as I’ve done similar I’ve used my PayPal a few times and one or 2 purchases on credit cards nothing major but I have used them. Also regards expenditure as it’s my brothers house he has let the last few rent payments go in order for me to make my credit card payments. So I don’t have anything on my bank statement to show me paying rent. Are these issues likely to cause me problems in my application for the DRO0

I imagine stepchange would want to see some evidence of your rent payment and maybe a bit of a gap after your last application for credit.
If that sounds like stepchange are more fussy than the Official Receiver's office, then that does seem to be the case.0 -
I haven’t applied to anyone yet but it was going to be stepchange I am my dads POA so I have to change that first to my sister because I read you can’t be POA for financial affairs if you have a DRO, I’m sick with worry with all this I’m afraid of getting stuff wrong and messing it up.I know everyone has stress and worry’s so I have to suck it up.
its amazing how things can change so quickly. Up until October last year I was living in London and let’s say managing I’ve never missed or been late paying my cc but i then had to move to Wales and become my dads Carer he has dementia, I applied for UC and thankfully was accepted but obviously this is not enough to pay my debits, family have helped up to now but that can’t continue.I’m exhausted just trying to work things out and how to do stuff.
so thank you to you guys and your advice0
