Hello everyone, I keep checking my Email every 10 minutes and I don't want to call StepChange to bother them too much (I completely understand they are busy!)

They have emailed me on 4th of February saying that they have received my paperwork but they need bit more information, so they sent me copy of "personal information form", which I have returned within a minutes filled in. Just want to know what would be the next steps? and 90£ Barcode letter will be sent via post or to my Email?

Thanks and have a great day ahead everyone

I saw that you had posted something by clicking my notifications but couldn't see what you had posted until I clicked quote as all the text was overlapping. I'm going to download a different browser to see if things improve. As it stands this is unusable for me.

I can't see how to send pms but I have noticed that on the front page next to loans, there is a link to Debt Solutions and that's the guide that is woefully badly written - wanted to let you know..

Think I've worked it out - go to inbox and  click the pen symbol. Bloody Hell.

Everything is bit all over the place at the moment with this new layout.

Thank you. I had never heard of that but it sounds fast and one of the problems I have is that the new site seems very slow to load and navigate. I'll try it.

I went through stepchange, after they have got all the info they need it took about 7 to 10 days for the barcode to come through the post, you then pay the £90 at the post office, phone your creditors up and get up to date balances, phone stepchange up once you've got them.  They just run through everything again with you and all being well will submit your application once youve finished speaking to them.

I phoned them up on Wednesday and I was granted the dro and on the insolvency register on Friday, all pretty quick.

Thank you and "congrats" with your DRO (saw it on another thread.) I completely can relate that it isn't something to "celebrate" but time will fly by and as you said, it's lesson learned.
I sent them all the information they asked in DRO pack 2 weeks ago, A week ago they got back to me asking for "personal information form" to be filled in which I did straight away. So hopefully I'll be getting bar code letter sometime this week.

Thanks for your response once again
  • Hi I currently rent a house from my brother proper tenancy agreement. I am looking at applying for a DRO will my brother as my landlord be told and will it have an adverse affect on his property, as I would rather he didn’t know about my financial situation but neither do I want problems for his address in the future

I would still wait for more experienced forum users to advice you but as far as I know, No one will tell your brother anything (unless you owe him money for rent which you will have to include in DRO application) and DRO is something that will affect you and your credit score, I don't think it will have any affect on the Address or property.
