Did a very juicy piece of research last night worth £4.38 :o which was approved this morning so I've cashed out £8.74 bringing the OP balance to £392.14 🥳

I can't believe I'm nearly at £400! I honestly had doubts I would achieve the goal I set myself but I can see it now 👀 it doesn't feel like pie in the sky anymore.

Payslip day today. Everything is set for the money shuffle, including some extra into our joint account as I've bought myself a couple of birthday presents for my birthday in a couple of weeks. Looks like the TT will be in the region of £37?

Also, the front door is being done tomorrow afternoon!

    Yay! to the door!
We're terrible to buy pressies for, as we kinda have everything we need.
Usually end up with cash or wine.
If it's not adding up, compound it!

Money shuffle is all done and everything lined up nicely for the rest of the bill-paying period. First finance DD is going out on October 25th. This means this month there is enough excess for me to put ~£200 into our house savings account on October 1st.

    Plans for today:
    - pilates - DONE
    - shopping list - DONE and himself is currently out shopping
    - paint the last reminding wall bits around the front door - waiting for the filler to go off to finish this
    - pot up my new amaryllis bulbs (this is half of my birthday present - 5 new bulbs!) - DONE
    - build the chickens some temporary perches out of spare wood - DONE
    - cottage pie for tea tonight - DONE
    - collar the neighbour and confirm breeze block/ballast purchase for chicken coop build* - haven't seen him yet

*can't remember if I mentioned, but neighbour has a family member who works at a builder's merchants, meaning bargainous supplies.

  • Well done on selling more items via FB! I really must give this a try. Its always great to add more funds to the OP pot isnt it!

I too love that feeling of knowing what is going, or has gone from the house, I think its the minimalist in me. Less is more and all that.

I am also interested to see if the same has happened to my car insurance early next year, as what you have found. I always find it strange how, we go through another year of being insured, make no claims, so another year added to the NCB and yet the price continues to go up?! Surely that should work the other way round, at least in my head anyway.

I've a friend who's an insurance underwriter so maybe I'll ask him (y'know, in about 3 years, when I next see him lol) but I suspect there are other factors that play into the "what are the risks associated with this person" game. I mean, my parents only live about 4 miles from us and my insurance company won't insure them at all. My mum was insured with them for years but then they withdrew the insurance a few years back, and that was that. She was rather peeved when I told her who our insurance is with lol, as she was under the impression it was the whole city.

Good morning everyone! Is today a happy Monday or a meh Monday?

2 bills left to go out for this month. Current account looks good 👍 no surprises there!

    Plans today:
    • meal plan for the next week and write shopping lists for today and Friday
    • swing by BILs on the way to Aldi for his washing (he doesn't have a machine yet)
    • grocery shopping
    • withdraw cash to pay neighbour for breeze blocks and ballast. Not sure on the exact cost but we agreed I'd take out £120
    • post an Et$y item
    • collect Big Small from college

Also I'm due a phone call at some point as I'm going for a massage tomorrow and she's got to take me through all the new Covid adaptations etc.

I feel like I'm forgetting something.....
