Stuff happens ... I've got 25 Dell laptops here at my work for a project. Fresh out of the box I have:
1 incorrect keyboard
1 faulty battery
So it's not just refurbs.
(Dell service engineer is here right now to fix them).0 -

I would be irritated if they sent me such a thing, even if I could fix it myself.
Thanks very much for this.
I always try and make allowances , but it seems that unfortunately for me itzoo have extracted the urine .
I have submitted a returns form and await further instruction if they can be bothered to do so ..0 -

In a similar situation, after the lambasting I give for lackadaisical behaviour. I may receive a full refund and get to keep the product.
I don't expect you will obtain the same result. The absolute minimum is a full refund with the return at their expense and at your convenience.
In your case, to cover your inconvenience, I would request that they fit an SSD(that you will purchase for £15 and send along with the return) and install Windows 10 to it for you, at no further cost.
Depends on how good you are at negotiating. Talk to Darren about it.
It's a reasonable request.0 -

Thanks again for your advice .
TBH , it may be a sign to get rid . I'm a Mac user (not a fantastic one it has to be said :rotfl:)
The idea was to get up to speed with office work for my hopeful eventual part time job. I took an induction last week and it was basically for word , excel etc.
However, a few days ago I managed to purchase Microsoft office for Mac on fleabay for £5.50 .
So , I'm thinking do I really need a windows laptop after all?:o
I'm unemployed and have basic knowledge ( ie I can do outlook , Internet explorer and a tiny bit of excel . Plus I used to use DHL and UPS systems for shipments ) .
This is why I sound very naive and even more so when I got something unfit for purpose sent to me .
I hope you understand0 -
So I receive email from Darren . He must be hard of hearing and short sighted . He is chasing the tech guys as they are very busy .
What part of ' returning as it's not fit for purpose ' does he not understand ?0 -

Best to get rid...they sound a shower. So their warranty will be worthless.
It's been rejected as faulty and unfit for purpose, so they should organise the return.
Just remind them that you are no longer interested in persevering with trying to fix it and that they should organise the return without further delay.0 -
Well, I've just replied to his last email " no thank you . It's in its box waiting to be returned . Please can somebody send me return label "
I've paid via PayPal . Hopefully it won't come to that0 -
Now we know why it's called IT Zoo. Full of monkeys.0

You're right there .
I haven't heard from them since asking for a refund .
Will phone them if I can get through this time . Sad really , as they were recommended on my other post ..0 -
It's a real shame as I've used ITZoo about 5 times in the last couple of years and never had a problem.
But I never had anything go wrong therefore never had to phone them. I did get one that was like yours where the partition's were all screwed up.
I re-installed windows 10 and used the code on the sticker. The sticker has the full product key on it, but part of it is covered in scratch card type stuff so you have to use a coin to rub it off. I think this is what the OP means about "peeling" off the sticker.0
