Complaining to retail company re PCN
Comments
-
Hi,
I live in S.Derbyshire, although I was shopping in NW Leics as this is the nearest Pets at Home.
When I mentioned legislation, I was referring to the Code of Practice mentioned by the Deep.
The PCN referred to 'Left the Site'0 -
You've mentioned Wickes a couple of times.
Have you asked Wickes to intervene?
Perhaps you didn't shop there, but you were browsing, and now you are reluctant to return to make that expensive kitchen/bathroom/whatever purchase now that you have found it comes with a £100 surcharge.

Left site can be beaten with eyes closed
Find telling ukpc they have no proof of any driver leaving site sees the ticket cancelled

Hi Kieth, yes I did speak to Wickes manager the next day. He was supportive but he said that he could not get involved as I had shopped at Pets at Home. However, my wife did buy something from them just after I left the site. She spoke to the other duty manager there who said that he was having a meeting with the parking company the next day as they had received a lot of complaints about this. He seemed interested but the other one closed me down!0

Brown Trout is right, this is simple.BrownTrout wrote: »Left site can be beaten with eyes closed

Don't go telling people that the occupants of the car might have left the site and certainly no lying, if 'someone else was driving' isn't true. No-one tells people to lie. We tell them not to say who was driving, which is not the same thing.
You only need to submit online, the template in the NEWBIES thread for windscreen tickets, on day 26 like the sticky thread explains (not sooner. This is all explained, and WHY, in the sticky thread).
You can remove the bit from the NEWBIES thread template appeal, about PDT machines or overstays, and just put: 'Where is your evidence that the occupants of the car left the site? You will lose at POPLA so cancel this PCN' (instead of the middle part of the template).
Easy as pie. BUT NOT YET, if it's not day 26.
The trouble is with 'meetings with parking companies' the PPCs just lie to their clients and are all friendly...and the stupid retail managers fall for it...again and again, and cut them slack. UKPC need sacking but they will convince the retailer they are needed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I would appreciate anyones help in this matter,
I received a parking charge notice from UKPC for parking in a retailer carpark reason being
vehicle owner/driver left site. I did not leave site. I have ignored their letter and now has gone
into debt recovery, via debt recovery plus. I am very worried if it gone this far will they take it to court. If anyone could offer me any advice on this, i would be so grateful as I am worried.
Thankyou so much in advance.0 -
You can't post on someone's thread; that's called hijacking and helps neither of you.
But you appear to have missed reading post #4 of the NEWBIES thread, that BEGS PEOPLE NOT TO START ANY NEW THREAD about debt collectors stage (please don't).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for this. I assume the 26 days start from the date of the PCN which was 5th January. If that is the case, I make the deadline as 30th January, does that sound right? Sorry if I am stating the obvious here but I don't want to miss it!0 -
The forum recommended deadline already has two days factored in for people missing it!
You simply need to have appealed as keeper before they can get DVLA data on day 29, and you hope that UKPC will forget to get the data (at all) and fail to issue a NTK as they will be so excited about getting an appeal and sending you the POINTLESS 'holding reply' that begs to be told who was driving!
No posts about that, please.
Even if UKPC remember to issue a NTK in February, you'd still win at POPLA, as BrownTrout says, because they have no evidence.
You've surely checked UKPC's photo evidence online already, and know this?!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
