But as a new customer I wouldnt want a second hand box would you?

Even a referbished one is going to appear weathered unless they paint them as well which I doubt. Its going to look soiled.

That's for Sky to decide what they do with the boxes.

Maybe they replace the caseand use the case that's been removed on a box that's being sent out as a refurb.

A refurbished box is exactly that, recycled and looks like new you would not know whether it is brand new or not.

Just to let anyone know you dont need to change your LNB back after sending back your Q box when you revert back to an older style box because I have an old HD box working off the quad LNB I have upstairs which also supplies the Q box downstairs.

cajef, but thats my point, the fact I wouldnt know is a bit off don't you think? If I'm a new customer I'd like to think it's a brand new product not something that's been used for potentially years. Sorry if I seem fussy but that's how I view it.

Why what does it matter as long as it works, I could understand if you were buying it but you are renting it, if it goes wrong after a month or ten years it is replaced free.

If you rent a car do you always expect it to be brand new?.

With the current LNB I have after they fitted the Q box is a quad LNB which works an old HD box upstairs and runs the Q box downstairs and all works fine.

So your statement in #34 is actually incorrect it is only applicable if you have a quad LNB fitted that works as above which most people do not have.

I'm beginning to believe you continue posting on this thread simply to get a rise out of other respondents. Is this the case?

    To Clarify:
The LNB used for Q services is totally different to the one for Sky+HD and Freesat services.

However, if a hybrid LNB is fitted which allows both Q and Sky+ to be received then, on cancellation of Q, the LNB will continue to operate the Sky+. The connections used for the Q decoder will not work with Sky+ though.

If an LNB solely for Q services is fitted, it will need to be changed to enable Freesat and FreesatFromSky to be received.

It would have to be a hybrid LNB at that (or perhaps they don't do Q only quad LNBs?)

The OP isn't someone to trust for accurate information on Sky at least anyway.
