    Don't change the name, just disable the 5 Ghz radio.

    Do you have a tech-savvy relative or neighbour who could come look at this for you? Everything I've said previously is doable and won't break your router - Sky are being somewhat economical with the truth.

    Ok I’ll look later today to see if I can disable the 5GHz, will that affect the speed of my broadband though?
    have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

    No, broadband will be unaffected.

    I’ve gone into my hub and had a option to untick synchronise 4ghz and 5GHz all unticked hopefully not done it wrong
    have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

    just looking through my router went to try disable the 5GHz but got a warning that i need this for our sky Q, this is the boc we unticked earlier

    WiFi Access Pointhelp
    Enable WiFi Access Point
    Enable WPS
    Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)
    *****Synchronise 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Settings ****** un ticked this one
    have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

    That's fine. Untick 'Enable WPS' when you have some time, it's best to keep it disabled.

    Great thank you , can I ask why it’s best not to? As I thought it was something to do with security

    No unfortunately I don’t, it seems be be ok accept for having to click on connect when opening up from sleep mode so not a huge problem, thanks for your help though

    Yes correct, it's not the most secure thing in the world and you probably haven't even used it.
