Hi thank you for the good wishes. I have been able to get tomorrow off (longer if needed) so can go see dad. Been reading up in broken hips and he won’t be allowed out of hospital until social services have done a house check. This is all new to me and mum!

My nanna fell on the stairs and broke her hip a few years ago.. She WALKED into the hospital.. yes, walked! She WALKED to xray and back to waiting.. then all hell broke loose. She had surgery to sort it and was home living by herself after a week. By day 3 she was fetching tea for the 'old ladies' on the ward.. she was 85!!!

Made of sterner stuff these older folk.. I hope his recovery is as swift as hers was! xx

No problem, Valli; I thought that was the case, but I'm still new so wanted to check.

DH was happy to help this evening, so the kitchen/diner was done this evening, level 1.

I look forward to seeing tomorrow's list.

The first post has all the lists for the week; either it's edited daily or I get lazy and fling the whole lot up on a Sunday night.

  • Cough, splutter, wheeze...

I have some sort of virus. And instructions from the GP at the walk in centre to stay off work until I feel 100% again/call an ambulance if I feel any more breathless than I do at the moment. Seems that the key to being treated very well at such appointments is to a) turn up in full working attire, having been sent home from work and b) say the magic words Humira and Steroids. Fortunately, my tendency to have weird extra heartbeats when I have respiratory infections didn't show up on examination, so I avoided a blue light taxi this time.

Anyhow, having had a two hour nap at 6pm, the remaining Christmas crud has been removed and Himself will be apparently pottering around tomorrow whilst I stay in bed, having presented me with a bottle of Olbas Oil, so I am now wafting a tissue around that makes me smell rather like somebody's great grandmother. [strike]and probably feeling like one as well[/strike].
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Hi all

My soup is cooked, cooled and in the fridge, well what's left after DD and I had some. DD now tucked up, fast asleep. First day back at school and dance has taken it out of her. She was asleep about half an hour after she got in, unheard of, I'm normally telling her to get to bed.
I'll try to get through Monday and Tuesday list tomorrow as I'm off :T and there is a weather warning for wind and rain so I'm not going out.

piggers glad you've napped. I often wondered how you found time for sleep. My great granny broke her hip badly when she was in her 60s. She was in the hospital for the rest of her days because her heart was too weak to operate. She was 96 when she passed away. Nothing wrong with her heart if you ask me :rotfl:

I'm off to bed. Night night all.

Morning all. Hope you feel better today JoJo.

Apart from exercise class I can do pretty much what I want today, so catching up on kitchen jobs is my plan .

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning all

I caught up with the thread earlier but then forgot to post! At least that means that I actually have some progress to report.

It’s my day off today and the first for many weeks where I haven’t had a stack of errands to run in various towns and a good shop to do. We need just bread and milk so I’m planning on going to the local c00p for that.

I had to attack the hall etc on Sunday so today is bedroom day for me. So far:
    - 1 load towels washed and hanging indoors as it’s grey and miserable outside
    - QHI done. Clean washing sorted.
    - en-suite cleaned including getting out the trusty toothbrush and bleach. Not sure that it’s much cleaner but it sure smells like a municipal swimming pool.
    - bed stripped.

I’m just having a cuppa then I will vacuum the bedroom and remake the bed. I need to sort the recycling out. I’ve read and re-read the council website and collection is definitely tomorrow although now that 1 house has its bins out, everyone else is following on. I will stand by my convictions....:rotfl:

All of downstairs given a quick hoover through. Not perfect but I'm hoping that by not expecting perfection I can get into the habit of pocking the hoover around regularly and that the house will not get in such a state. I timed myself and it took less than 10 minutes so no excuse not to do it daily really.

Just cleaned the inside of dining room/playroom windows.

Coffee next and swap WM & TD

It’s busy today, lovely to see everybody. Flinging out GWS vibes, hugs and support wherever needed x

I managed most of level 1 in the kitchen last night, remembered right at the last moment that I was supposed to be going out so had to do a mad dash to get ready!

By a stroke of luck I completed level 1 of the lounge this morning before reading, I’ve also done my dailies, S/s in utility room and downstairs loo and quick vac of ground floor. I’m having a cuppa now while I wait for the WM engineer, fingers crossed it’s not terminal, then I will get back to paid stuff...

I don’t have a Toots list, I read the guide and I’m making one, I think it’s going to be big!

Need to pop out later to run a couple of errands and pick up some items from Mr T. Then I will fly a little more.

Have a good day all x

Because today is kitchen day (although I've to go out shortly) and because I am a member of SW I have
    (1) flung the Christmas cake - there's only me eating it now...so stupid to leave it around tempting me.
    (2) flung the chocolate tray bake (see (1))
    (3) flung the homemade cookies made by DS and DSGF (see (1))
    (4) flung the chocolate cake DD brought home and had 1 slice of (I don't especially like chocolate cake)
    (5) flung a tray of tartlets that have been in the freezer for 9 months. Unlikely they were were going to be eaten and their use by date approaches and they're taking up space.
    (6) Flung a well OOD yoghurt hiding in the back of the fridge.
    Washed the fridge shelf.

It goes against the grain throwing out edible food but, equally, I'm paying for membership of SW so need to follow the guidance, really. In my defence all this food has gone into the green bin so will be composted. So I can assuage a little guilt...

    WM x 2; TD x 1; DW x 1.
