  • Good evening gang,

Paid stuff done and not too bad for a first day back! I dropped loads of carrier bags at Asda this morning to recycle, and our green recycling bin is out ready for collection tomorrow. I have also broken some cardboard boxes down as well.

School and PE bags are packed for tomorrow, the fire is roaring and I have listed some stuff on FB marketplace to sell. The DW is doing its thing, and everything else is reasonably ok.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening xx
  • Hi all

Tree down and all the decorations boxed up. Bulb has gone in the room of doom so I'll need to wait till morning to put the boxes past in there.
Veg and lentils added to pot.
Ex hasn't showed up to take DD to dancing again  sick of it I'm going to have to make other arrangements for her it's not fair.
I've decluttered a frys cream to make me feel better ;)
Quitting for the day I'm shattered.

Evening all  and welcome to newbies and returners. I see we're already on page 3!!!

I started writing a post last night, but didn't click to send and lost it when I closed down my computer :(

    Things achieved today:
    - resigned from a committee which meets about 5 times a year in London. Taking the travelling into account, I simply don't have time :(
    - kitchen Level 1 plus some of Level 2
    - Rosie's walk
    - FUPA DH's clean socks
    - sorted out some empty boxes and stuff for the CS / church / DGDs' school
    - wrote my Christmas thank-you letter to DSiL
    - WMx1
    - cooked a quick omelette for lunch
    - drove (45 min each way) to an excellent 2-hour meeting with my course supervisor; drank good coffee and ate choc Bahlsens:)
    - on the way home, popped in to see some friends and stayed for an hour ;)
    - cooked tea

Now I have half an hour before University Challenge, so will deal with a couple more bits of paperwork.

Our decorations are still up and the lights will not be turned off until bedtime. Tomorrow I will take down and put away everything except one candle and one wooden carving, which in my house traditionally stay up until 2nd Feb.

Tomorrow I plan to clean all through downstairs and go to the CS.

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx

    Evening all,

I fluttered when I got home from work.

Dinner cooked, WULTD, level 1 of today’s list done.
Pack up for DH for tomorrow done - more (different combo!) leftovers for him.
Wm x 1 run and Wm loaded again for the morning.
Toots list re-read. Only 2 small things crossed off and a many more added. I may have to have a rewrite or rethink.
List started of jobs and errands for tomorrow.

That’s it - I’m now flopped on the settee with a cuppa.

((Hugs)) sticks and spoons all round. X

So just chilling this evening although might do a job application, doesn't have to be in yet but as I was communicating with them earlier anyhow, looks keener. (Scrub that there was a reminder come up for 24 hours in Police custody on at 9 and I think DS was on the search team for this one.) Spent most of the afternoon in the kitchen and do not appear to have achieved much as I had to scrub the kitchen, first time after a while always takes longer.

So the list with my additions

    [STRIKE]Job searching[/STRIKE] - 2 hours done online
[STRIKE]Job Centre appointment 12.20[/STRIKE] Yep done and all sorted until next time
Lunch with a friend 1.30 Cancelled she has flu
[STRIKE]Arrange lunch with a friend for Tuesday[/STRIKE] - done tomorrow in the pub 12 o clock
Research and ? buy new printer (any suggestions welcome)
    [STRIKE]Walk dog[/STRIKE] 1 hour done

    Kitchen/dining room

    Level 1

[STRIKE]Clear sides and wipe down - wipe small appliances[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Replace what lives there, wiping as you go[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Empty bin and clean it out too[/STRIKE]
Wipe sill, [STRIKE]sockets,[/STRIKE] door handles and switches
[STRIKE]Clear and clean sink and accessories - don't forget those out-of-sight places - under plugs and under draining racks[/STRIKE]
    Clean/polish table - wipe mats/change cloth
    Check fruit and wash bowl
[STRIKE]Throw away your manky dish cloth or sponge and replace with a new one![/STRIKE]

    Level 2

[STRIKE]Wipe down all cupboard and drawer fronts, not forgetting handles and tops and bottom as well as fronts![/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Clean hob
    Clean microwave[/STRIKE]
Sort fridge and wipe seals; weave stuff that needs using up into your meal plan
    Wash out shelves and baskets.
    Dust dining area/room
    Descale kettle if needed
Clean WM, TD and DW filters; remove WM detergent drawer and wash it out.

    Level 3

Pick a cupboard or a drawer; empty it, clean it out and put back its contents tidily
    Sweep/mop/vacuum floor
    Clean windows in both rooms.

    EXTRAS

Dig out your Toots list and update.
[STRIKE]Update budget notebooks/spreadsheets[/STRIKE]. Done on the 1st, needed to work out how far the remainder of the money would go
New month has begun - do you need any birthday cards? Yes need to sort them
Go through your diary/calendar and make sure all those important dates - eg insurance renewal, MOT due etc. are noted THEN mark in a month to three weeks prior to start booking/getting quotes.
If you have foreign holidays booked (or you're thinking about them) check passport expiry dates and bear in mind that different countries require periods of unelapsed time! If only

  • No problem, Valli; I thought that was the case, but I'm still new so wanted to check.

DH was happy to help this evening, so the kitchen/diner was done this evening, level 1.

I look forward to seeing tomorrow's list.

Kaz.. I think 9 are at home at the moment. CF still has one of the two he abducted.. he now has CAMHS, SS and the police actively involved.. and I'm watching the karma rain napalm down on him... and loving every second. The 2 oldest girls are living indepentently.. DD1 is 25 and DD2 23.. The boys are NEVER leaving I'm certain.

DW fixed. OR the guy said it is, I've been too asleep all day to check.

    Nothing but naps achieved.

  • Hi thank you for the good wishes. I have been able to get tomorrow off (longer if needed) so can go see dad. Been reading up in broken hips and he won’t be allowed out of hospital until social services have done a house check. This is all new to me and mum! He has been very poorly for many years so we are used to bits being removed and dealing with the aftermath but nothing like this....
Anyway one step at a time!
Flying - done by hubby with no complaints and I’ve decluttered a zillion calories. Got 2 of my dogs all cwtched up on the bed being comforting...although I think youngest dog is trying to take over the whole thing....
Luckily house had a big blitz very recently so it’s just a case of keeping 3 sets of muddy paw prints under control.
