Oh wow, what a week. I see there are lots of you supporting loved ones and I know it can take a toll on you. Yorkshirelass, sorry to hear about your son, praying his treatment goes well. Sending spoons and positive vibes to all and big sticks to chase away black dogs.

Well, I haven't been in since Friday as time ran away with me again.
Friday started with a message from a friend asking if I would like to meet her for coffee as she had to cancel the last time due to the flu. She had been made redundant too so we had a chat about the job front. I then shopped for DH birthday present and came back home. Decided to apply for a PT job that I had only been 1/2 thinking about as it wasn't FT. The closing date was Friday, prepped it all then realised there was no email address to send it to. Luckily it wasn't far away so able to find an envelope and run it around once I'd connected to the printer which was a battle in itself. Friday evening was pottering in my playroom finding homes for, and labeling up stuff as I put it away. Finished with a call from my Dad who wanted company on his shopping trip on Saturday.

Saturday was up early and away at 8. We met up with my Aunty for coffee and breakfast and then it was a long morning trekking around after Dad before lunch and home. It was 6 hours that I could have been doing stuff at home but when he is 82 and dealing with my bedbound Mum its respite for him so I could hardly say No. It was also DH birthday so once I got home DS came round for a bit before we disappeared into town for his birthday dinner.

Today didn't go as planned either as woke up to find that DH had been up all night. I'm not sure if it is IBS or what but he had got such a bad stomach and had been throwing up so was in no state to take DD back to uni in Lincoln. A quick rearrange of my friend who was coming round this morning and I picked up that trip as well. Friend was round this afternoon asking work advice and then it was time for dinner. While it was cooking I discovered I have lost/mislaid my memory stick with all my work templates on so that is the next big task to find it so that I can forward info to the aforementioned friend. I have no idea where it is. It always used to live in my laptop bag or my handbag and isn't in either but as I haven't been at work since the end of November I could have put it anywhere. There are times I wish I was in a 2 bed flat!

That brings me back to the list. I'm not going to copy it out and then post what is left to do as I think for me this is negative. I want to post what I have done, not what I haven't if that makes sense. I also have to remember when I am beating myself up for not completing all the stuff, that for some rooms I have more than one of them (which I'm sure others can relate to). Living rooms for example, yeah I did both last week and they take time. Kitchen for me is the kitchen and dining room. Bedrooms, I have always left
mine until last as its less likely to be seen than everyone else's so its a tip, and then there were 3 others and an office/junk room. Now we have 3 bedrooms and 2 offices/junk/craft/playrooms. Life isnt perfect and not all my rooms have to be so anything done is better than nothing done and I need to remember this!

Sorry bit of a rant to myself there. So hoping next week will be less stressful and more positive and hopefully I will find the memory stick! Until the new list .........

Kaz totally agree with not completing everything on the lists, do what you can its another job done and as they say the rooms come around again next week. My house still has loads of clutter/gibble everywhere. The spare room/gym is my RoD, it has our online stock aswell as weights, a punchbag, dog food, potatoes haha you name it its in there. I only have a small 2 bedroomed terraced so no excuses really but it will get sorted eventually. Have you checked your laptop for the memory stick, it might still be plugged in?

As we're still on 'lat week'
I sorted through 2 of the foldable crates of files and bits n pieces that I brought home when I left my old desk. I have sorted out the stationery and the files I need to keep and I have a pile for recycling. I didn't find the memory stick there.

I did find it though in a handbag in the spare bedroom that I must have used in my last week so result!

Thanks Valli for this thread and Natty for next weeks which I see is up.
