(((Hugs))) Dizzy, fingers crossed for you xx
So far today I have
- got up, dressed and had breakfast
- had the same conversation as on several previous occasions with DH about sensible eating / getting his BMI down / what will the next stage be if he isn't offered a hip replacement. Frankly, I am fed up.
- mentioned in passing that I'd like to go to the pantomime, so he immediately booked for tonight - this is instead of going out to lunch today (where I know he will be tempted to make bad choices)
- had my hair trimmed by DH, and shaved his head for him: he now looks like someone out of cell Block H, but not as gaunt!
- stripped his bed and stated WMx1 of 3 or 4
- whilst waiting for DH to have his shower and let me clean his bedroom, sorted some bits off the bookshelves and flung some
- dealt with an email
Atm the sun is shining and I'm inclined to take Rosie out now and clean the house this afternoon, since DH has not yet emerged from his hiding place.0 -
I was just about to type morning then realised it wasn't (and that was over an hour ago!) Darn half another day lost. Didn't sleep well, was awake every couple of hours and was thinking about jobs each time which is not a good sign as obviously starting to stress about it. Got up and took Doogie over to the vets for 2nd vaccine. She was much better this time, she screamed the last
. Then took her for a walk and came back and did a gentle wash off in the bath to get her used to it. Cuddled with her to settle her after and promptly fell asleep for the next 2 hours so on the coffee now in the hope that I can be a bit more productive today.
DH is actually doing something (a rarity in his retirement and a big bone of contention when he is being grumpyand is sanding down the radiator in the kitchen where the paint was flaking badly and i was getting paint under my nails when I hung the tea towels (and it hurts!). It was probably the electric sander that woke me up so pleased on 2 fronts.
Oh and just cleaned up more doggy doodles from the top landing. Urghh when is she going to get the hang of it.

Me again, but probably the last time today as need to head off fo r work in an hour.
But my kitchen is nice. All tidy, surfaces cleaned and floor mopped so I'm happy.
Now going to enjoy a guilt free wander around the internet whilst the floor dries then will go and deal with WM and hopefully get another load in.
Bins go out tonight so am happy as mine is full.0 -
Dailies and dog walking are done and I spent a couple of hours with a friend sorting her accounts for the year.
May select something from the list now before paid stuff.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good afternoon
Paid stuff done for the day.
I have managed to remove some compost from the bin. Its not done yet, so I will take it to the allotment at the weekend and put it in the bin down there to finish off. Food bin emptied into Lottie the hottie (running at 50 degrees). I have put some things in the DW and cleaned the highchair. I am now in my running gear and going to pick up DD2 from work before going for a run.
WI tonight, so not much more will be done today!0 -
Thought I'd make an attempt to check in; still having to pace myself very carefully, as the Mjolnir effect regarding fatigue is still very much in evidence.
However, I've managed to shift a few tasks this week:- Blitzed the entire bathroom with the steam cleaner, including the bathlift, which is actually a bit of a pig to clean.
- Made birthday card for friend (and sent DH to post it as I'm not getting the mobility buggy out just to go to the post box).
- Cleaned all the inside of the micro/combi oven, and blitzed the wire rack and the tray. They're not brilliant, but I'll have another go at them another day.
- Done a WM load and hand-washed mybras and knickers and the top with rhinestones on that I don't like to chance in the WM.
- Blitzed sink and drainer.
- Made pizza dough and a loaf, and have since put topping on pizza - just needs cooking now for tonight's dins.
- Told DH to get off his a$$ and go and dust the lounge.
Oh yes, and DH chased up the door/window people - we have to wait til 17th January for someone to come and fix the front door handle so that we can use it. Not impressed. However DH has WD40'd the latch on the back gate so I can operate it now; so I wouldn't actually be trapped if I was on my own and there was a fire.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I have dealt with more washing, made celery and Stilton soup for lunch, walked Rosie, half-remade DH's bed (came up for the clean bedlinen and caught up with the news!), made a phonecall, sent an email and drunk a mug of tea. It's too dark to hoover.
DH's orthopaedic (knee) appointment tomorrow has been cancelled by the GP because his hip is more of a problem ?!?!?! It means he can go to the horse piddle gym instead and get some exercise, and I can go out for coffee or lunch with my friend if she's free.
Good to see you, LW. Take it steady. It sounds like you are doing more than me!
GI, I found those crochet hooks under a pile of papers. Do you still want them? If so, could you please PM me your address?0 -
Came home a few minutes ago to a lovely clean and tidy litchen and dining room, they are also the first rooms you walk into when you come in; It was gorgeous. Actually feeling motivated to keep on with the rest of the house.
So see you all tomorrow0 -
I am thrilled to see the thread so busy.
Not much is getting done today though I have
WM x 1
DW x 1
TD x 1
and have had a sock pairing session. The pile is teetering...
Just about to WUALTD then I need to go for petrol as I am running on fumes.
Found out today |I'm off to the well known aquarium in Pigpenland (again). I get to see the little fish that hop about on land (mud skippers?) (I like them) and my absolute favourites - garden eels. (There are videos on youtube). We go at the end of the month, weather permitting. I also went in 2018 and 2019.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Evening! Feeling less tired now and happy to report my middle room is gleaming
Kitchen is still looking good, all (yes, ALL - can't quite believe this...!) ironing done, washing up to date, ground floor hoovered, all animals fed and watered, log burner roaring and boys showered, ready for bed.
Weather here has been wonderfully sunny...however, the hills have been shrouded in clouds so more water will be on it's way. Snorkel is at the ready...0
