WOOT.. Roaring 20's... I feel the need to get appropriately dressed and go out dancing!

Round/YL.. I LIVE here.. There is a really weird one-way system which makes no sense at all.. Next time either of you are hobbitting about over here give me a shout.. I will not subject you to my hovel but we can go for coffee and cake..

Anyway.. laundry is caught up on once more.. all folded and away of sorts.
    All dirty pots clean
I need to get the rest of the kictehn presentable and all the litter trays cleaned in the morning. We are taking the christmas decs down tomorrow so I can reclaim my house.. I need to fling some more gubbins from this hovel.

DW being fixed tomorrow I hope.

I have 3 binbags to take to their new owner.. but I probably could fill another without too much effort.

I need to magic up some money too.. I have made a start on writing my first book I have wait a few decades to get time to do.

    I'm in - thanks Valli :A

Muddy Walker - hugs; it can be tough being the only one xx

LW - hope it gets sorted very soon; piggies are 'wheeking' at the top of their voices for you! x

Not going to aim for a whole list as I think I look at it, decide it's too much, and then do nothing. So, let's start with a few 'doable' tasks from Levels 1 and 2 each day . . . . . . . .

    Kitchen

    Level 1

Clear sides and wipe down - wipe small appliances
Replace what lives there, wiping as you go
Empty bin and clean it out too

    Level 2
Wipe down all cupboard and drawer fronts
    Clean hob
    Clean microwave

    EXTRAS
Dig out your Toots list and update.
    Update budget notebooks/spreadsheets.
    S&S bathroom

Well its great to see the thread is still going, I've been a long time away so thank you everyone who is still contributing, especially Valli (and ? Natty) for the lists each week.

So an update on where I'm at.
Still with DH, 20+ years but had our official 10th wedding anniversary last year so went back to where we got married in Gibraltar (some may remember the planning!)
DD, remember that awful brat as she was, she is 21 in March and in her final year at Lincoln Uni but has no idea of her next steps.
DS long since moved out and has now been a police officer for 5 years. He and his fiancee are due to become parents in May which will be a first grandchild for me. Can't decide yet whether to be Grandma, Nanny Granny or what .
I was made redundant in November so have been tasked by DWP to jobsearch for 35 hours a week in order to get my pittance each fortnight. I do need to work and I do want to but how do you evidence 35 hours a week :( . The redundancy has meant apart from the mortgage that we are now debt free (didnt think the day would ever come) and have managed to change one of the cars to a newer one but the balance has to support me now until I am working.
Lost my little dog in the opicture but have just recently rescued another little Shih Tzu who is gorgeous, cute, funny and incredibly naughty at times.
Mum is now infirm following a stroke and infection in her spine and my 82 year old dad is doing everything apart form her personal care, so I am always on call for them too.
Have started a little crafting to destress so have set up and createds my own play room, just need to finish organising it.

I am hoping that in the time that I am not job searching that I can degrot the house as for the last how ever many years I have mostly left it to DH and lets face it, MOST men just dont see stuff the way we do. Now I will never be Mrs Hinch (although I think DS could probably give her a run for her money as he is super tidy/clean) but I do want to do some more decluttering as we now have almost 20 years worth of carp in this house.

So I am hoping I can check in on the lists and see what faces are about that I knew from my previous time here, and look forward to 'meeting' some new characters. Piggers, I need an update on the family!

So the list with my additions

    Job searching
    Job Center appointment 12.20
    Lunch with a friend 1.30
Arrange lunch with friend for Tuesday
Research and ? buy new printer (any suggestions welcome)

    Kitchen/dining room

    Level 1

Clear sides and wipe down - wipe small appliances
Replace what lives there, wiping as you go
Empty bin and clean it out too
Wipe sill, sockets, door handles and switches
Clear and clean sink and accessories - don't forget those out-of-sight places - under plugs and under draining racks
    Clean/polish table - wipe mats/change cloth
    Check fruit and wash bowl
Throw away your manky dish cloth or sponge and replace with a new one!

    Level 2

Wipe down all cupboard and drawer fronts, not forgetting handles and tops and bottom as well as fronts!
    Clean hob
    Clean microwave
Sort fridge and wipe seals; weave stuff that needs using up into your meal plan
    Wash out shelves and baskets.
    Dust dining area/room
    Descale kettle if needed
Clean WM, TD and DW filters; remove WM detergent drawer and wash it out.

    Level 3

Pick a cupboard or a drawer; empty it, clean it out and put back its contents tidily
    Sweep/mop/vacuum floor
    Clean windows in both rooms.

    EXTRAS

Dig out your Toots list and update.
    Update budget notebooks/spreadsheets.
New month has begun - do you need any birthday cards?
Go through your diary/calendar and make sure all those important dates - eg insurance renewal, MOT due etc. are noted THEN mark in a month to three weeks prior to start booking/getting quotes.
If you have foreign holidays booked (or you're thinking about them) check passport expiry dates and bear in mind that different countries require periods of unelapsed time!
    S&S bathroom
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

DS long since moved out and has now been a police officer for 5 years. He and his fiancee are due to become parents in May which will be a first grandchild for me. Can't decide yet whether to be Grandma, Nanny Granny or what . I'm grandma.. Nana's and grannies are OOOOOOOOOOOLLLLDDDD

Piggers, I need an update on the family!

It's wonderful to hear from you.. please do stay... I missed you! I was just thinking about you the other day funnily enough.. it must have taken a week for my thoughts to reach you and draw you back!

Wow.. updates.. I don't know where you got to haha..

OH and I got married .. 2 years in May.. that has absolutely FLOWN!
CF is still being exactly that.. after abducting 2 of the girls I got one back and he is still torturing the other.. and I took the incredibly hard decision of stepping back and allowing them to come back when they feel ready. Until then there is nothing legally I can do.
Squeak is 9, and we have 3 younger beasties.. Dot (8), Pixie (6) and Twinkle (3) .. all girls because OH is in fact a woman!
DS1 moved back home in August, DD2 moved home in September and managed a week before she moved out, DD1 separated from her partner in August too.. so it's been a year of big changes for everyone.
I have just got 5 kittens..
John the immortal fish finally died.
I have grandbeasty 6 due in May
And I am still living in squalor pretending to do the lists when in actual fact I just like everyones company :j:j:beer::beer::j:j

That's pretty much the last 11 years summed up I think.

Argh... I have Grandbeasty #2 being dropped off in 6 hours... best go to bed..

DS3 has been left with litter trays to de-poop .. flying in my sleep!

Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.

Not a bad nights sleep. The dogs tried to ask to come in our room like they do when they're at their weekend retreat, but I was having none of it so they stayed quiet until 6.10.

Just had first cuppa. Going to get physio out of the way before flying etc.

    Have a great day everyone.

Ooh, printers- we have an HP 5000 something. Brilliant, ink gets sent before you run out and quality is good. Can print from phone and multiple other devices. Only cost about £50 a few months ago.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning all,

I am up, dressed and got my make up on, that's good enough for today. Kids have an inset day so DH (still going to call him that on here for now, it's just easier) is at home with them.

Will divert via asda on the way to work to drop in a load of carrier bags to their recycling point. Living the dream, one day at a time!

    Have lovely days all xx

    Welcome back Kazmeister!

Back to normal this week - school back today, DH and I both were back at work last week. Dailies done. Lists will wait until this evening.

I did a complete freezer turnout and list last night - it’s no wonder the drawers struggle to shut. Hopefully dinners for the whole of January and maybe beyond are in there.

Have a good day all. Enjoy your first No Work Monday, Round!

Aww thank you Fayolle :D xx

It was lovely to get up just a little later - 7.15 am instead of 6.30 :) It's blowing a gale here and rain is likely this afternoon - so the first load has just finished swishing and a towel load is going in next :T I'll double peg them and I can bring them in before it rains.

I need to write a list (Fayolle ;)) or two, so that I don't have to keep remembering not to forget things until I get in to a new rhythm.

I've made my bed, slurped my first cuppa, caught up with fb and the thread, checked the weather forecast.

    Round 1 =
    Unload WM
    Set 2nd load swishing
    Get washed and dressed
    Hang out washing
    Feed birds
    Put out rubbish and recycling
    Breakfast

    Back later
