Impulse buys

I was given the two Pinch of Nom recipe books for Christmas and they are great. Good healthy calorie counted recipes, very tasty and easy to make. I like the fact that the two writers obviously struggle with their weight, they realise that overweight people need real food to eat to try to change bad habits and they present a real alternative to unhealthy meals. Don't shoot me down, this is my opinion and I'm not trying to cause controversy. I have lost 46 pounds using the first book for meal ideas and calorie counting (I had the first book on Kindle but find a "proper" book easier to flick through) so they must be doing something right.

I've been good about impulse buys this week! The only thing I bought that wasn't on my list was a prawn sandwich & a yoghurt

I had that rarest of things today: a NSD. Which is just as well, as I have some major expenses coming up towards the end of the month.

Me, too! The gardener has just rolled up to get rid of the pampas grass which has grown enormous! OH loves it, but he is stuck in the 70s.

£200! And we weren't expecting to go to America when we splashed out on my new car.

I'm having mature but dead trees felled and removed, costing a fortune but feel like I'm getting a relative bargain now you've told me how much you're paying. If it was pampas I'd be getting rid of it myself. Actually, I'd be saving it for the little one and ask her to give it a haircut, which would keep her amused for a little while whilst I tackle the beastly hawthorne and bramble

Eta: I'm just looking out at the garden now, and having very mixed feelings about getting rid, they must have once been very beautiful trees. It would be different if they were alive though.

The pampas grass was enormous and covered about 6' square.

OH slashed his eye when cutting it back some years ago.

46 pounds is amazing. It has taken me 4 months and I have only lost ten pounds. Having said that I don't believe in 'diets' per se and have only watched what I eat and have given my lovely Tiggy extra walks when I could manage it.

It took two men all day, two loads of rubbish to a recycling place. £380. :eek:

The gardener had hoped to burn most of it, but we decided it was too close to the house.
