And I am joining in because Tine has inspired me with her tales over the last few days haha!
I have always loved the idea of it and folded all my clothes so beautifully... but never actually had a proper clear out! So 2020 is the year!
This is no small task - Molly is renowned for her amazing wardrobe (both lovely outfits and the sheer scale!)

Currently sat surrounded by Christmas decorations and garlands
This year I am going through them properly and discarding any I do not love.
They are going in bags which will be put at the front of the shelf with a reminder in my phone to take them to the charity shop in November.
The shop I donate to has no storage, so I am happy to hold on to them as long as they are sorted and can go straight out in November.
The only caveat to that is my children who are 31 and 26 and who still argue over who each decoration belongs to.
They will have first dibs on them :rotfl:0 -

I've made a start in the study today. My first project is digitising recipes I have ripped out of magazines. I have a file full of them, yet never look at them as the internet is always my first port of call when I want food inspiration.
I have decided to make my own online recipe book using Evernote. I am pasting from the online versions to mitigate against pages being taken offline. I can ever add images for visual effect. Evernote's search function should make it really easy to find what I'm looking for, and I can access recipes via my phone or tablet when I'm cooking. Those I can't find online can either be scanned in or substituted with equivalent recipes.
Well miracles do happen... I have removed 152 pages from my collection, digitising only the ones I want to keep. Even more miraculous, I have stayed focused on one decluttering job and have seen it through to the end before getting distracted and starting something new. There's hope for me yet!!!know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...1 -
Despite a sore and slightly swollen hand today I have managed to deep clean the fridge! When I tidied it I realised we had nearly a whole shelf of sauces and assorted other dressings - so got rid of enough to easily fit it in a door shelf. Suspect someone will notice eventually we have gone down to 3 BBQ sauces but that’s tomorrow’s problem :rotfl:
Tomorrow I have promised to bake banana bread and I owe MSE Molly some Irish cream fudge (and she does have a cold!) so there will likely not be much time to do any Kondo-ing

Whilst not exactly on topic, I've just had a breakthrough I thought I'd share here. Don't know why I haven't thought of it before, but this year instead of the usual struggle to get the tree in its box out of the loft, then the even more difficult struggle for me to lift it up so OH can drag it back up, tonight I just lifted the 3 separate sections of tree up, OH grabbed them and refilled the box that remained in the loft throughout. Easy peasy.Make £2025 in 2025

Talking of things on the missing list, we couldn't find a glass Christmas angel which should have gone on the tree. OH said after we'd decorated had I seen it, I didn't recall it, a search of the tree didn't bring it to light. In removing the things from the tree we looked out specifically for that ornament and couldn't find it. I went through the things that had remained in the big box and couldn't find it, so I'm trying to recall last Christmas and I have a feeling it may have got broken.
Also on the missing list is the charger for my Fitbit. I seem to recall saying to OH, when I can't find this charger, remind me that I've put it...... Only he can't remember where I put it either. Have looked all over the place and it's just not turned up so have had to buy a replacement. Only 2 was only £1 more than buying one..... so I succumbed and bought 2. At least I've a few more chances of finding one of them when I mislay it next time.Make £2025 in 2025

I did this the other day! Lost my old iPad charger & couldn’t find it anywhere so finally went out & got one in the Argos sale... only to find it when I kondoed a drawer later that day!“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. MK'd the dresser cupboard as I had to put the Christmas plates etc away in my china stash.
(Yes, I have special dinner and sides plates, mugs, serving dishes and so on for Christmas, which we use all December and which bring enormous joy.)
I took the chance to sort out our every day dishes and put aside a couple of chopped /crazed items and replaced them from the stash I bought in the online marquee sale . A couple of bits went into the CS bag or the bin, and everything is tidy again.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Back on the wagon again for this year
Christmas decs all down and packed away but waiting to go up in the loft. I did do a good Kondo a couple of years ago so they are boxes and easy to store.
Ive updated my finance spreadsheet for this year and started to unsubscribe from a number of irritating websites. Found some old photos of ex DiL that I'll put in an envelope & give to her. I did do this last year with various members of family cousins that were of more interest to them than me.

Checking in for the first time.
1-4: hotel coffee sachets from DH work trip, used up.
5-12: 8 x miscellaneous paper clutter lurking in drawers, recycled.
13-14: 2 x magazines, read and recycled.
15: gift set for a fragrance I don't use, passed to MIL, who does.
16-19: three library books from the school I used to work at, in a carrier bag, passed to friend to return. Good job the librarian is a friend!
20: opened and unused coffee grounds, composted. DH started drinking this, then stopped.
21: exercise book full of child's drawings, recycled. We don't have children... it can only be from a visit in 2018 by a friend and her two-year-old, so why was it in with the appliance manuals?
22-86: 65 out-of-date seed packets, contents dumped in compost, paper recycled, foil envelopes binned. I keep fooling myself that I am 'saving money' by using them up. I am not! I am wasting time, compost and garden space, all of which are more precious, because even if they germinate they are sickly plants. I still have more to do here as I have kept too many that 'could be viable', but will come back to this. They are all freebies from magazines in the first place, so whose money was I saving?:rotfl:
87: 1 x perfume bottle, recycled
Writing it out like this is fascinating. I can see that delayed decision-making is an issue I'm going to have to tackle.0
