Got the money for one of my Wii game bundles I sent off (the other one I sent first still hasn't paid up ) money transferred into house move pot. Also sold some ski stuff on Shp0ck.
Mum's visiting and spotted some old sheet music and my old recorder, so those are going home with her, along with a set of cushions my DD is now too sophisticated for (so she thinks).
Also got two boxes of random bike stuff out of the bike shed and sorted through. Found 4 sets of brand new pedals! Listed on FB along with a few other bits n pieces, mixture of free and selling.
DD's bed is going tomorrow and a couple of bits of furniture back with my Mum, so feeling pretty good about progress. Why does the house still feel so chaotic though? So much stuff has left it and pretty much nothing new come in the front doorChoose kind0 -
 Slinky that wasn't a dog fox, that was a werewolf!
Our cat drew my attention to it being out there. She went out through the flap and was sniffing heavily at some of the bushes, then she went out of sight, then back in through the flap quickly with her tail all fluffed up. There were some crows and gulls on a garden tree shouting their heads off, then the fox appeared from near the rat traps. Glad the cat took the safe option to come back in.Make £2025 in 2025

Cats are normally pretty savvy - I've seen them run up trees and even up brick walls to get to a safe space when alarmed.
Made a special trip to the chazzer with an item which was bulky but not heavy strapped to my pushbike - the purpose of the bike was to enable me to walk up with the item (too bulky to ride with) and then ride home. I was told that someone had asked for that very category of item on Thursday afternoon, which they couldn't supply then, but can now. Hope that person drops in again and that it's suitable for their life.
Have got a lot of displaced craft materials on my bed, which will have to be re-homes tonight (probably into an IKEYA bag under the bed).
Slowly sifting some excess items out of the home, nothing more coming in at the moment. I'm even resisting secondhand books and using the library more.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Oooooh good a new thread
I have had an extended time away on a little adventure....a millions miles from here and all the continual tussle with the clutter. In 2019 I was determined to get a handle on it and I managed my personal challenge of buying no clothes in 2019 apart from a swimming costume and some underwear and bought nothing for the house that wasnt needed - no "oh that could be useful" or "I will get 3 of those as they are on offer" etc etc. So there wsa a net flow out of the door but very slow. However DD2 is currently on her travels/study with her BF and they have left there wordlies and DD1 is still on her travels with all her stuff boxed up...the place feel full again:( In addition I have had to bring a lot of my work resources home as changes in there work place mean I can no longer keep it all there - so sheds and every spare shelf full again....pfffft.
Anyway not daunted. Going to start slow and take a leaf out of VJs Mum book and start with one item AT LEAST a day and hopefully it will gather momentum.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

At least one item a day! yes I like that concept, not really marie K as such but who cares, better slow than never. Some crockery is out today, in my out basket on my kitchen floor, then I have overnight in case I change my mind, doubt that but a bit of leeway helps. My clothes are hardest, I am multi-faceted in what I do and all of it needs different clothes, would be much easier if I was just twin sets and pearls with no hobbies0

2 very large bags of old bedding and towels taken from roof space and passed to local dog rescue charity, for re-use at their kennels or rag as appropriate.
We had too much as a legacy of having two large, potentially wet and muddy dogs, present fur baby will walk around puddles and has not desire to splash around in streams, lakes or sea!The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
One bowl that's been annoying me for ages finally relocated into the charity bag...0

Sold the DGD's moses basket and stand yesterday, that's a BIG thing out of the way.
Also went loftwards, a few things for the charity shop, some things re-distributed about the house and a pile of my children's books brought down for the DGC (forgot they were there!).
Not going back up there for a few weeks, I start to move things about rather than sort them if I go too often! There is still a lot from the old house (I've been here 6 years!) but it will go eventually.
Just back from Ikea with a storage box for under DGS's bed, trying to get all their toys into one room and they only visit every few weeks so should be fairly easy.0 -
I am so enjoying the space created by removing the item yesterday. Of its contents, about 10% have been identified as never likely to be used by me and are now in the donation bag.
Somehow, the energy created by the space involved me having the energy to deal with a project item and that's now work-in-progress instead of just pending. It's all good.
Am now off to play on the allotments for a little while.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Some things in and some things out. Kondoed all the potted fruit trees from the garden to the allotment and my boss is going to take the unwanted pots off my hands.
I am now on the lookout for a new-to-me dvd storage solution. OH and I like dvds and we have outgrown our current storage as more are appearing from fil's collection.
Have anyone seen the minimalist vs maximalist video on the BBC website? It seems that they (the BBC this time) have misinterpreted the KonMari method again. The maximalist house isn't full of clutter - it's someone who has carefully curated their space with art items that they love. Yes, it's a quite full space and yes it's not to my taste (although neither is the minimalist house!), but it's not cluttered in the sense of having a load of useless things. The minimalist space looks a bit sad and empty to me. My style is "cosy". I don't like a lot of ornaments etc, but I like the house to look inviting.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310
