If you don’t already know this .... The Body Shop will accept ALL your cosmetic containers ... plastic , glass ( apart from combustible stuff like paper etc) .... shampoo bottles , tubes of make up ALL OF THEM ... doesn’t matter what make of product and they will go for recycling ... the company they are working with sends nothing to Landfill ..

BUT if no one uses this facility it will be scrapped so please use it

Have we finally kondo'd the blooming moths? None spotted last night in our lounge which is a first for several weeks. Fingers crossed they're gone. We had another 'go' at the cupboard we found them in, but it's difficult to get to every nook and cranny is it's a corner one with a lazy susan style turntable in it which is hard to get behind. Copious amounts of moth killer sprayed in there yesterday. If we have another night moth-free I'll put the contents of the cupboard back in as I've got piles of naked tins with contents written on them stacked around the kitchen.

Today we finally sorted replanting a lilac bush we brought with us from our previous home. It was a heck of a struggle getting it out of the pot which we didn't want to break as we only planted it in there as a temporary thing and have plans to move our olive tree into it. Fortunately the bush survived largely intact as did the pot. Chatting to our neighbour here a while back, she also transplanted a lilac into her garden from her mother's home.

Christmas lights have been taken down outside, inside decorations will be done tomorrow. The battery operated lights worked all across Christmas with the batteries we took out of the catflaps/nose hair trimmer. To all intents they were nearly flat but we got the last bit of energy from them. Two sets were pretty dim last night so there's obviously almost no charge left now.

I plan to make gift labels from some of the Christmas cards, not done this before but it'll be another small way to become a little 'greener'.

  • Oh we’re on a new thread, I was only just near the end of the old one
I’m back in the organized life/ money saving/ Kondo fold.
I need to re-do the kitchen as I suspect things are malingering in cupboards....Off on holiday somewhere hot next month, currently have my “holiday clothes” laid out on living room floor, with shoes, sun cream etc. just checking what gaps there are (after sun and a pair of lightweight black trousers it seems)
Starting to exit a few items via olio and bay of E, and happily parted with some worn/faded/damaged clothes to the rag bag.

  • Well this weekend yielded 4 sacks of clothes for clothing bank (it's a 20 minute drive to a charity shop and 40 minutes I don't often have :) ) and a PILE to Ebay!
2 DEEP cleaned and Kondo'd bathrooms and one seriously sore hand... Starting to suspect there may be beginnings of arthritis which is obviously annoying.
Would have Ebay'd but there is SO much that I'm starting a spreadsheet instead with weights and descriptions as well as sizes etc. Next Max £1 fee day I'll be listing up a LOT of things and I have all the postage materials arriving so feeling organised - which isn't likely to last ;)

Good idea, the local launderette put out a request for Christmas cards - they use the backs for labels etc, so I took mine down as Woodland Trust collection boxes are a thing of the past.

Yesterday's kondo was an out of date pack of herbal sleeping tablets I was keeping for Justin, even though they don't work. Today's a several year's ago gifted tube of shaving balm that neither DS nor OH use, or are ever likely to.

Small gains but out is out, right?

Just before Christmas I was looking for the Christmas table cloth I was sure I had :D And I was sure it was in a certain suitcase in the attic. However....., when I went to the suitcase, the label had 'tablecloths' crossed out and 'towels' written underneath (in my handwriting). Then I opened it, and found it contained a mix of bath towels, teatowels, kitchen towels, scarves (pretty ones for daytime wear), some tablecloths (but not the Christmas one).

Now I am all confused..... What did I do with the Christmas tablecloth? Did I ever have one, or is that just my imagination? Was it actually thick paper and did I throw it out last year? What am I going to do with the kitchen towels and tea towels? They are all new, and will be useful someday, but they are also beige, light brown and olive green; colours that I am not fond of (to put it mildly). I did not buy them, they were either gifts or inherited. We need to clear our house for the renovation starting September (if all goes well), so maybe I just need to get rid, maybe try to sell? Decisions, decisions.....

Siebrie- if they are new why not sell them and put the proceeds into the renovation fund? The things "that go missing" are so annoying, I think about something for ages, sometimes the whereabouts becomes apparent, sometimes not:o

Starting as I mean to go on, I've now kondo'd some ancient oven gloves that were down to one layer of material in the crucial part. they must be nearly 40 years old as OH got them when he bought his first house.. I already have replacements so it is a true kondo

That can do for tomorrow as I am on hols for a week from then.. but have got back into the mindset so am pleased about that... :T

Well... I'm joining in with you all :D

Today I did the En-suite bathroom, go me! We are about to hit the clothes this evening because we're THAT rock and roll in this house hahaha

What a way to spend a Saturday night :money::rotfl:

And I am joining in because Tine has inspired me with her tales over the last few days haha!

I have always loved the idea of it and folded all my clothes so beautifully... but never actually had a proper clear out! So 2020 is the year!
