@Sea Shell
From what I read on the T&Cs of my Virgin Money Reg Savers it said the interest rates are all fixed until the maturity date, but hopefully any new RS will get a higher rate.
.
Yeah, I know. I was hoping for an increased rate on new issues.:beer:How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

Rang up this morning to see if I needed to make an appointment and she said yes, and gave me one for today, but I reckon if I had just walked in, as an existing customer, they would have done it, as there was no queue and they did not seem busy.
I just need to set up a SO for 1 December now.
Maxing out this account is a bit of a commitment if you don't have bottomless funds - £8000 with no withdrawals allowed till 28/2/19.
But this is the life-saver: 'Miss as many monthly payments as you like'.
So, open the account, deposit the max for several months to see how how your funds last and then if things get tight, reduce the monthly payments. You end up with a deposit account at 2.5% interest0 -

Not really a problem if you have various current accounts which will be less attractive from April 2018, and also have various Virgin Money regular savers due to mature through the year"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
Just opened a Leeds BS Issue 9 and they asked for details of a "transfer account". I haven't opened an account with them since Issue 4, where I wasn't asked for this information.
Does this mean they now offer online transfers (or even just BACS) transfers on their accounts?0 -
Principality BS has just issued a new RS paying fixed 4.00% p.a., one year term, max £250 per month. Too bad it's "Only available to Members who’ve been with us for two years or more": I only became a member of this BS a few days ago!0

I believe I transferred money by standing order but I will need to double check.0 -

It's a change to their ID checking they made earlier this year. Whereas before you were required to send a cheque, they can now check that your opening deposit comes from a bank account in your name.
You won't be able to do online transfers as the account cannot be operated online.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -

Here is this weekend's update.
- Leeds BS Regular Saver updated to issue 9 with new maturity date of 31st October 2018 in post 7
- Ecology BS Regular Savings account added to post 2 as it appears to have no maturity date and the account details specify that you can add £3,000 per year
- Nottingham BS Special Regular Saver (Issue 6) added to post 3
I can see there has been some discussion on what forum members should be posting on this thread. I am not a moderator but I have put my thoughts into post 1 as follows:
"I am happy for people to use this thread to discuss the regular savings accounts on this list. If people want to discuss one of the feeder accounts or a maturing account that is no longer on this list, I am happy for people to post something on this thread (as it may be of interest to some of the people who follow this thread), although I would prefer they start a new thread and then post a message on this thread with a link to the new thread."
I will do another update next weekend.
