£75 here, £50 there etc etc, it all adds up and that what we are trying to do i.e., maximise returns.

Absolutely! It all depends what your individual objectives are, how much you have to save, and how much time you are prepared to put in to get the return you want. The BoS Regular saver/current account offer at 2% gives a reasonable return for someone who can't spend the time dealing with multiple banks, or for someone who has already used up all the higher interest offerings and still has money to place somewhere.

The BoS/Halifax regular savers have been 2% for a long time, that the current account is heading downwards too is annoying, but not enough to make it worth throwing them out of the mix.

If all the sub-2.5% interest accounts were scrubbed from the list there wouldn't be a great deal left for a lot of people. :(

The £15K that was in Santander at 3% is better in Bank of Scotland even with its eventual 2% than it would be were it still in Santander at 1.5% :)

£75 per annum better to be exact.

That's assuming that all your £60 fee has been covered by cashback on the allowable payments, or the difference could be more.

I didn't 'get them to..', she just told me that's what would happen.

AFAIK wasn't a personal favour for me, she appeared to be consulting/reading from an internal CS bulletin.

Maybe your CS rep is just quoting the standard rule & hasn't checked the latest?

I'll report back Tomorrow/Friday & confirm the result.

Edit: Just checked, they have already closed it, and paid the contents plus interest into my chosen Santander account. And delisted it. I'm off to open the Iss5... :)
    Thanks soulsaver.

I contacted them again, by secure message this time. I have now had the full closing balance plus interest transferred to my account :)

The first CS rep I spoke to clearly hadn't seen or read that bulletin. It's just as well I have this forum to obtain the correct facts :money:

Can anyone confirm at what point after opening a 123 account, I would be come a 123 world customer and therefore entitled to the 5% interest on the regular e saver? I opened the account last week, have moved some DD's and they are now showing on the account, but none have been taken as yet, I have done the min pay in, but haven't been charged the monthly Fee as yet. Can I open the account at 5% now or do I need to wait for DD's to be taken / Fee to be paid before I would quailify? Thanks
