Have rung head office who rang store who rang me to say cannot have branch saver
Sent copy of key product information and it says only one but it's a different date to e saver issue 1
This I tell them umpteen times

Are now going to ring again local store
    Let's see what happens

If you've got a log in to their website, send them a secure message asking for your Store to be told the facts. Emphasise how many phone calls and visits you've made!
  • Been told I can have it
Off down to store for it , me and wife !
You think I'd won the lottery ( the small amount you get )

Let's see if we get it

You must surely be due compensation for all the trouble you've been put to over this. Let us know how you get on.

I opened a reg saver 2 online with Virgin last night and messaged to say I wanted an appointment to open a branch reg saver.

Had a call this morning, guy said 'I see you have an online saver already, ok, when would you like your appointment?'

So by Wednesday I should have two accounts. Are all Virgin money stores cashless? He said I could bring a cheque - luckily I still have a cheque account.

The accounts you have opened have a fixed maturity date of 1/12/2017. The maximum you can achieve is 12. :)

This account was floated in November (from my chatting with the MOS last week) but even the sharpest ones on here didn't spot it till December.

My local Store is a modest size but they accepted cash (I had the cash ready but forgot my cheque book which would have been a nuisance). I would take both - as you may have decided.

Check out the store finder: http://uk.virginmoney.com/store-finder/

Once you've found the store, click View Store Details --> Store facilities. Some have "cash handling" as a facility. Make sure you also get your free tea/coffee, if your store offers this!

My experience suggests the "cashless stores" don't have any cahier counters. They just have desks and private rooms (similar to being in an estate agency).

With an appointment they should be able to open the account and give you a passbook, so should be able to take cash. Any kind of posting out or doing things later and they probably won't.

Take both. Also take passport/driving licence and a bill/bank statement in case they want to ID you again.

Yes, they have already told me what ID they want from me - but they definitely advised they cannot take any cash as they are a cashless store (which is why I queried if all stores are cashless) so I will take a cheque with me.
