Yeah I already have that but I'm not sure whether, if I open a 4% one now, I can upgrade it to a 6% one mid-way through the year.

You cant upgrade the RS mid term (you could upgrade the current account) and you can only have on RS anyway - it is 4% or 6%, not both - in the same name.

    To the OP

Leeds BS Regular Saver (Issue 3) - this is now also available for opening online as well as post/branch. Online tries to do an electronic verification, which can save the hassle of getting proof of ID copy certified. You have to print/receive in post the application form after and send it with the initial payment cheque (with the proof of ID/address if failing electronic verification).

The account is available to view via their online login as well, but no ability to transfer out money online.

Existing account holders will not have their rate reduced post 18th July.

    Correct.

It's looking clearer now. Regular Saver (3.1%) and Sports Saver (4%) are now closed to new applicants.

It looks like there is going to be a new Reg Saver but only at 2% with a limit of £4k. It's on the rates page but not the products page. (Presumably because it launches on Monday?)

    Here you go.

More flexible than their 3% one they are about to launch - there is no mention of the £4k limit for the 2% on the link (but this 4k limit ref is still apparent on the Interest rate drop down).

    Again branch only:

If you scroll down it does say £10 - £4k but that doesn't seem right because otherwise its the same as the old regsaver. Might be a mistake.

The last few Nottingham Reg Savers have all been branch only, but that only means you have to go to a branch to open one or part withdraw. You can always pay in by SO/FP and they are happy to close them by post.

It certainly does - I either missed that or the website has changed again in the days since I posted

That's not true - the old (now closed to new applicants 3.1% regular saver) had a limit for paying interest of 750k.

Up to 3 or so years ago they restricted some of their better accounts to post code.

    Hi Folks,

I have completed this weekend's update for the first page of this thread.

    - Nottingham BS Regular Saver Issue 1 replaced with Issue 2 (post 2) with lower interest rate of 2% and they have introduced an account balance limit of £4,000
    - Nottingham BS Sports Saver replaced with Go for Gold Saver (post 3) paying lower interest rate of 3%, balance limit of £4,000, matures 31st October 2017
    - Barnsley BS account removed from the list as they have been re-branded as Yorkshire BS (post 3)

I will do another update next weekend.

    SS2

I have been into the branch to open one of these today.

I asked the question about an account balance limit and the adviser said that there was no limit with this account. He gave me the branch leaflet and it does not mention a limit, just that you can save up to £250 per month and that you get a statement every year!
