Is there the option to take it to customer service in stores that do banking ?
Unfortunately not. There was a poster a few weeks back who ended up cancelling his application for this reason. He was also based in Edinburgh, so as an alternative to a store, he offered to take his documents into head office. That was also refused.0 -
Is this new having to prove your ID, when I opened an Halifax account it all went through online with no ID check.0

It can differ with the account provider. Mine went straight through electronically with Tesco, but I was required by Halifax to show my ID.
In general, banks are checking more than they ever used to, because of the more stringent regulations they have to comply with.0 -
The Nottingham Building Society will be decreasing their Regular Saver interest rate from 3.1% to 2% from 18th July.

Select the 2nd Regular Saver from the drop-down menu to see the upcoming change.
A couple of days on I wonder if anyone has received a letter or other notification of this.0 -
