great thread.
smiling at Afahmaep's post....imagine getting those rates now:A
i am looking at saving £500/m into a cash Regular Saver so am looking at HSBC (i can get 6%G) and West Brom's (4.1%G) as i have a bond with them that matures tomorrow & i want my long-standing membership to continue.
having had a quick skim through it looks as though only accounts which require a linked fee-costing current account, such as M&S, or an account with a mortgage-related tie-in, such as Monmouthshire, beat an HSBC West Brom pairing.
thank you for any help.0 -

Swansea Building Society.
Minimum investment - £25.00 per month
Maximum investment - £500.00 per month
4.00%
Seems to last for one year only, but can continue. The website says "At each anniversary of the account opening, the entire balance will be transferred to another account held with the Society. Further subscriptions can continue into the second and subsequent years."

You have to live in Wales to be able to open one of these.
I couldn't find the application forms so I phoned the branch and they are sending them out to me but was also advised they have just heard that the rate will be going down to 3% from 1 August.0 -

That's a shame, I could survive the "friendly chat" - but we're nowhere near Nottingham.0 -
