Hi Folks,
Here is this weekend's update:
- Santander eSaver (Issue 4, in the feeder account section) interest rate increased from 2.75% to 3.1% for new and existing customers. (If you have the old issue 3 account paying 3% then it is easy to swap over to the issue 4 account - see this thread.)
- Details of the new 4% Skipton BS regular savings account in post 4 (now called Skipton BS Limited Edition Regular Saver) updated. This account does not have any restriction on where the money deposited comes from (i.e. no rule saying that it must be money new to the institution), the account can be closed early without penalty and Skipton BS only allows one Limited Edition Regular Saver account per customer.
If you do want to open one of those Skipton BS accounts then make sure you select the correct account as the similarly named "Regular Saver Issue 2" account paying 3.25% is still available.
I will do another update next weekend.

West Bromwich BS Fixed Rate Regular Saver (Adult) - Perhaps another special condition is that access is branch only too. Even if it is possible to open by post, it is possible they may not allow closure on maturity except by a visit to a branch.0

First Direct's Regular Savings Account is 8.0% gross for 12 months with a limit of £300 per month, which means you can get a return of ~4.4% gross on £3600 over 12 months. Not bad but you need a 1st Account and also cannot make any withdrawals in those 12 months without closing the account.
Might be worth getting a 1st Account just for that!0 -
Hi Everybody,
I hope you have all enjoyed the long Bank Holiday weekend.
I cannot find anything that has changed in the world of regular savings accounts.
I will do another update next weekend.

Hi Folks,
Apart from fixing a pair of broken web links, I cannot find anything to change on the first page of this thread.

I think that is their "normal" Regular Saver. Looks like the 4% Limited Edition one has been withdrawn.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
Hi Everybody,
ctdctd is right, the Skipton "Limited Edition Regular Saver" 4% account has been withdrawn and the "Regular Saver Account issue 2" paying 3.25% remains. It looks like the name of the account was appropriate - limited edition! I have now removed the limited edition account from the list on page 1 of this thread.
There are no other changes that I can see. I will do another update next weekend.

Hi Folks,
Here is this weekend's update for this thread.
The Halifax Children's Regular Saver account has changed. It is now named Kids' Regular Saver, the maximum age is now 15 years old, it is no longer possible to open multiple accounts and it can only be opened in a branch.
I will do another update next weekend.
