looks like santander esaver 3 at 3% has now been superseded by a new one (esaver 4) at 3.1%

Got one already0

It's one 'savings account which supports Faster Payments out too - albeit only at £300 per day/per account [So opening additional accounts actually raises your daily limit - the trick is to make payments out from each account held separately to the destination].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

I logged on to my esaver3, went to the quick apply page, saw a page telling me esaver4 @ 3.1% interest, clicked on apply to get the next page telling me esaver 4 was 2.75% gross!!! i.e. less than my esaver3 now. Can Santander not even launch a new account with all the web pages with the correct information?0

Not happy tried to apply and the same thing happened tried to pap me off with the 2.75% ... :mad:0

I phoned on the 0800 number instead. Account opened no problem, and balance of esaver 3 showed up in the new 4 immediately after finishing call and logging on. Impressed by this, well done Santander. Sent a £1 test transfer (FP) from my current account and this showed up ok too, then sent a test £1 back to my current account for future withdrawals.
The phone guy agreed the 2.75 was wrong and a hangover from old web page not updated because the esaver4 was launched today.0 -
That took all of about 60 seconds to open online and transfer my funds from issue 3 to Issue 4 !! Couldn't get much smoother !0

Can someone clarify please - if you do nothing and leave savings in e-saver issue 3, is the interest rate still 3% or has it been reduced to 2.75%??
I am trying to establish if it is worth the bother - if difference only .1%, I will not bother, but different story if .375%, as I have a bit of cash in here.
Thanks in anticipation.0 -
E-saver 3 will continue to pay 3.00% AER.
60 seconds to open an account to earn more interest (even if a little) is hardly what I'd call bother !0 -
Simples!! That's a few more Mars Bars to eat each month. Thanks for the Heads-Up.
And good to know about the £300 limit on each account. Cheers0 -

How did you do that?
I log in and get a list of my existing accounts
Row of tab across the tops
No link anywhere to open a new account though there is a non functional button like thing on RHS of screen entitled apply online now underneath a my offers button which shows nothing available to me at next screen......
Ahhhhhhhhh
Ignore the above
It doesn't work/display properely in firefox with adblock on
It's OK in IE..the apply online button has a list of accounts below it - this doesn't appear in firefox.
Strangely during the app process I entered up my email address and it said sorry we have that one on file already -please enter an alternative one - so I did and it accepted it....wierd.0
